Which places in Universal Studios do you recomend to eat lunch? I would prefer a "cheap" counter service (or at least quick) restaurant. Would you recomend to go out to citywalk and eat there?

For a quick lunch at Universal I usually have a soft pretzel while DH and DS love to gnaw on those smoked turkey legs. You can find both of those thing throughout the park.

For a really cheap lunch, buy a hotdog at one of the carts. There are plenty of tables around to sit at.

For not so cheap, but quick, if you like hamburgers, go to Richter's Burgers located near the Graveyard Revue. They are not real cheap, but they are good. If you are not big eaters, you can share your order because the burger is a good size and is served with fries. I believe Richter's also has chicken sandwiches. Another restaurant for quick counter service is Louie's Pizza, also located near the Graveyard Revue. They offer, besides pizza, a panini (but my husband does not like it because they serve it cold), meatball sub, fettuccini Alfredo, and spaghetti. There is also the Monster Cafe (near Shrek and Twister) for chicken and pizza, and La Bamba restaurant (across from Mel's Diner which I do not recommend) for chicken and cheeseburgers. (Richter's is the best place for cheeseburgers.)

We try to do lunch at 11 am before the lunch crowd, but last Saturday we had to have lunch at 12:30. We went to Richter's and, although there was quite a long line, service was pretty quick. But still we prefer to beat the crowd, so we can relax while having lunch. Then back to the fun!

Do any of the places serve either vegie burgers OR turkey burgers?

Ditto on Mels Diner - the food there was yuck (dry chicken sandwhich, etc...) The chocolate shake was good though (very simple, nothing fancy at all , but it hit the spot)

There is also Chez Alcatraz. They have great seafood platters in a counter service environment.

I love it there!

Richters might. It is listed as having "healthy choices" available.

*waits for the menu brigade to be completed*

We ALWAYS eat at CityWalk restaurants. I just feel like we are getting better food at a better value. And for me, after watching people carrying around their turkey legs in the park, I don't get that hungry.

Even though we usually prefer to eat at Hardrock Cafe or Margaritaville in Citywalk, it is never a "quick" meal. We also end up spending more when we do lunch at Citywalk because we do not get as good of a discount with our APs as when we eat inside the parks. Also, the tip for a server adds on considerably to the total bill. So if money and especially time matters, eat inside the park.

Hardrock Cafe is located right outside Universal Studios. There is a gate by Nickelodeon that makes going to Hardrock convenient. (Not cheap (but not overly expensive either), not quick, but convenient and good.)

We always eat in Seuss landing. There is a rest. in a big circus tent. They serve pizza, fried chicken, spaghetti and lasagna, and soup. All 5 of us eat for about 45.00 dollars.

Check out Finnegan's Bar & Grill @ Universal Studios, this is a nice place to eat anytime.

I know it's not "cheap", but we love to eat at Lombard's Landing in USF. Very good seafood and excellent service. And getting off our feet and being pampered for an hour or so is worth the $$.
We can eat burgers anytime at home. Vacations are for living it up!!

Louie's has a nice pizza and 3 weeks ago, when I was there, they had a deal : an entire pizza for around $13 .
