Lunch at Epcot?

Possibly planning a longer day at Epcot (say through 4-5pm, just chilling at the resort for the evening) and I'm looking for a place for lunch. Something with grilled chicken or sandwiches. It could be a resort to walk to, Future World or World Showcase. I'm personally leaning towards leaving and going back to our resort or DTD and eating at Earl of Sandwich, but my DH likes to throw some curve balls at me so I need a back up plan. He's not afraid of seasonings/spice.

We have eaten at Sunshine Seasons and my husband did not like it. The sandwich's were not hand made, but pre-made and then pressed. He won't just do a snack for lunch either, he wants a meal.

Huh? Hand-made and pre-made are not mutually exclusive. They aren't made to order, no, but they are assembled on the premises shortly before being served.

Going off the description on wdwinfo dining menu's we were under the impression that the sandwich would be assembled in front of us.

To me this is a misleading statement (we were not expecting a sandwich that was already assembled based off the above description). He made do, but I prefer that for the most part we all enjoy our meals. Perhaps there is another station that we missed that does this. I see that the menu was updated 1/12, but perhaps the top portion is much older. We visited last Feb. 2011

I do not question the fact that it was pre-made. I questioned the criticism that it was "not hand made, but pre-made". The sandwhiches at SS are BOTH handmade AND pre-assembled. Your response does not respond to that question though it does explain the actual source of your frustration.

WDWinfo got it wrong and you shouldn't take your frustration out on Disney for that. The sandwhiches as far as I know (at least as far back as I can remember) have always been prepared in the same way. Assembled in giant sandwhiches and cut to portions which are served.

Make no mistake though, these aren't made long in advance at some commissary and trucked in - they are made AT Sunshine Seasons by hand shortly before they are brought to the window for sale. It's not like we are talking about pre-cooked burgers drying out and dying under a heat lamp here. The food really doesn't suffer for the lead time under which they are made. Sorry the enjoyment of your meal was ruined by not getting to see them put your individual sandwhich together..?

OP..one of the best deals going at Epcot for lunch is the prix fix meal and you may get a chance to see Remy....good value, nice surroundings (request a seat by the window) and kick back for a while.

I think your reading more into what I said than what is really necessary (it seems I have irked you). I have no frustration with Disney for what I read, I had irritation on the day we dined there as I have a picky husband and two children with allergies so I spend a fair amount of time researching food and was very happy to find something that sounded like it would work for everyone in my home. If I were taking out my frustration, I would be dining offsite and would have written a note to guest relations, which I didn't see the need to do.

As for my meal being ruined. Mine was fine, my husband made do as he often has to do. He doesn't need to see the sandwich assembled, but going off of what we read we were under the impression he could have items omitted.

I appreciate any assistance I can get with my rest. planning which is why I posted for clarification. I've gotten some great suggestions on where to eat, have already made my reservation and am looking forward to trying out a new place.

We ate there on our last trip and enjoyed it so much. We didn't know about Remy (not sure how I missed that!) and we all were tickled to see him. Thank you for the suggestion, it is a lovely place to eat.

As many have posted, the bakery in France has lovely sandwiches and pastries plus it is also usually quite quiet. Sunshine Seasons in The Land has some nice stuff but can be busy but i would go for the bakery in France!

You didn't really irk me, I just don't care for unfair criticisms. Maybe I read more into where your frustrations lie than I should have, but again, the real issue was the criticism itself over hand made versus pre-made.

I notice that the Kringla bakery at the Norway pavilion has been overlooked so far. DH and I love their sandwiches (not made to order, however). And the pastries for dessert are divine!
