We're going to Captain's Grille for lunch for the first time on our upcoming trip. Any recommendations for menu items that you really enjoyed? How's the Fish & Chips?

TIA! :)

Read great things about the restaurant.... it's one of the ones that I want to do but, I dont think made the list this time

It's on our list for our upcoming trip also. I've heard good things about the Lobster sliders.

We ate at CG for the first time in August. My husband and I got the lobster roll, which are now lobster sliders. We thought they were very good. My daughter couldn't decide what to get. So when we asked what to order, we were told that they were known for their fish & chips. Wow, they were excellent! We have already booked our reservations for this August and my daughter already knows what she's getting. (I am pretty sure I will be getting them too)

we love the CG :thumbsup2
recommend the chowder, the fish and chips, or the lobsta (i am from new england) sliders! :rotfl2:

DH & I always make it a point to have lunch here...we LOVE the Lobster sliders....delicious! My dad had their vegatable sandwich, and he liked that as well.

Thanks for the replies! Sounds like I may want to try the fish & chips. I'm not really sure what lobster sliders are, but maybe I can poke around online and find out. :)

Here is the lobster slider description from AllEars:

New England Style Lobster Sliders - served on a butter toasted rolls with a choice of Vegetable Orzo Salad or fries $16.99

There were some photos floating around of the old lobster roll at CG, before they switched to the sliders, but it looks like some of the photos were not actually from CG.

Do you know know what a lobster roll is in general? There are 2 traditional lobster rolls. The main ingredient is obviously lobster. Some places will just have lobster, in butter, served on a roll. Other places use lobster with a little mayo (that is the key, some places put way too much mayo, but in New England, you want to taste the lobster, not the mayo, so less is more) and maybe a little celery. The traditional lobster rolls are served on a buttered and grilled New England style hot dog roll.

I'm guessing that the sliders are pretty much the same (lobster and mayo), but served on a slider roll (a small square or round roll). If I find a picture, I'll post it.

I did see some reviews on the Disney Food Blog for Captain's Grill too. There were some photos, but not any of the sliders.

Here are my pictures of the lobster roll.

Thank you so much for this explanation! I love seafood, but I really had no idea what a lobster slider was. You were so kind to take time to explain. :)

I have to say, I made myself hungry for a lobster roll while I was typing that. LOL
