Lumbar Discectomy Recovery

Hey everyone, does anyone have any experience with recovery after herniated disc surgery (Lumbar Discectomy). All advice is greatly appreciated. I just want to avoid re-injuring myself and get back into marathon shape

Of course everyone is different and depends on exactly what the surgeon does but my personal experience was extremely positive! Mine was fairly extensive but I felt really good right away and had to make myself take it slow. Each day was a little better. Good luck!

Yup I just had it and OMG I feel so much better than I did before the surgery. They keep offering me pain meds and I'm like what for I feel incredible. Just wondering what people did after that either caused problems or helped. Have to get back into running shape
