Lulu201's Healthy Living Journal--Just trying my best to walk the walk! Come on by!

Way to go Erin! :cheer2: You are doing a wonderful job!!! Keep up the good work! :cool1:

Have a healthy and happy day today! :goodvibes

Ooohhh I like that idea. Iknow I am planning a trip to the spa to celebrate a personal goal of mine! I can't wait!

You are doing awesome! 10 days! I can't wait to hear what your scale is saying.

:thewave: :thewave:

~Amanda

Best wishes for a good visit with the scale this morning! No matter what that scale says, you've been doing a great job of healthy living for the past 10 days!! ::yes::

Sent you a PM about Sunday. ;)

Make it a wonderful day and ease on down that healthy living road! :sunny:

:grouphug: Hi, everybody! Thanks, Amanda, Doreen, and Tracy for stopping by.

:Pinkbounc I have a new clippie! :Pinkbounc I've lost 5 lbs. since I started strictly following my program on 7/25/05, and today I'm going to bravely declare: :wave2: GOOD-BYE, POUNDS! YOU ARE GONE FOREVER! :wave2: This morning I weighed in at 180. No more scale until Monday--that'll be further motivation to stay OP over the weekend.

Here's the plan for today:
1. Devotions :)
A Time to Think:
It takes a long time to grow young.
— Pablo Picasso
To Act:
Stop worrying about things you can’t control.
(That one I've got to work on!)
To Pray:
Dear Lord, let me always look for the big picture.
2. Vitamins--soon
3. Water--soon
4. Exercise--tonight when it gets cooler
5. Food--Tonight we're going out for dinner. . .I'm going to give some thought this afternoon for my plan to stay OP.
6. Scale--180.

So there it is! With God's grace, I'll gonna try to make it through another OP day. One day at a time!

Erin

Edit: We're going to a diner for dinner tonight. . .my plan is to have a BLT. I think I can manage past a dessert. . .the only thing that sounds tempting to me is a big cookie. (?) Friday's are always dangerous because I have that full bank of flex points. . .it's like having a full checking account. . .it screams to be spent! :p I'm glad I stopped by for this quick edit; I realize I forgot to take my vitamins. Will get that done before I go.

It's a nice :sunny: morning, and I've got to get out there and get my walk in pronto! I'm hoping for something a little longer than the usual.

The plan:
1. Devotions :)
Daily Thoughts:
A Time to Think:
Problems are sent to us as gifts. -Anonymous
To Act:
Cherish your purpose in life.
(I like that thought a lot.)
To Pray:
Dear Lord, show me how I can serve the spiritual needs of my friends.
2. Vitamins--will do
3. Water--will drink
4. Exercise--will walk
5. Food--will eat within the points, though I have to admit I've planned a special indulgence for lunch: a reese cup blizzard from DQ. Hey, as long as I'm within the points, I'm OP. Did I mention yet today that I love WW and it's the perfect plan for me? :teeth:
6. Scale-- :) avoided as planned.

This morning I woke up at 5 a.m. with my stomach growling! I got back to sleep, but I guess I should have a little something before I go out for my walk. . .

I'm overhauling our bedroom, so I'll be working on that and the laundry today. DD goes to a party tonight, but that's all that's on the agenda. :cloud9:

:cool1: Off to walk, looking Upward and knowing Phil. 4:13!
Erin

Edit: Went to the park to walk and had a surprise meet-up with the mom of one of my students (one of the two who are training for the 3 day Breast Cancer Walk). I ended up extending my walk a bit--completed 7 miles today! :Pinkbounc It's nice to know I still have it in me. :p

Have a good day. Enjoy your walk for me, its raining here so I can't get out for my run!

I enjoy your devotions in your daily plan. I try to take some spiritual time in the morning as well. :sunny:

Sounds like you have a nice day planned, dear Erin! :sunny:

I also appreciate your devotions. You've been serving my spiritual needs for quite a while now and I thank God daily for bringing you into my life. :goodvibes I'm a better person and a better Christian because of your influence.

Can't wait to see you tomorrow! :cloud9:

:sunny: Kate and Doreen, thanks for stopping by. I'm glad you like those devotions from dailyguideposts. They always brighten my day. :sunny:

:sunny: Good morning! :sunny: It's going to be another OP day! :Pinkbounc

This morning we'll go to church, pick up some produce, and then head over to see Doreen and Todd. It'll be an afternoon filled with smiles. :)

So, my biggest challenge will be restaurant eating today. . .I've looked over the menu and have a few things in mind. . .I'll check Dottie's to see if anything comes up there as far as WW points.

Here's the day:

1. Devotions :)
A Time to Think:
We forgive to the extent that we love. --Anonymous
To Act:
Reflect upon the choices you have made.
To Pray:
Thank You, Father, for the healing power of hope.
2. Vitamins--after breakfast
3. Water--I miss it when I don't have enough!
4. Exercise--today's a rest day.
5. Food--have got to plan it out
6. Scale--tomorrow :)

That's pretty simple, now I just have to do it!

:grouphug: to all,
Erin

You have been doing and awesome job and congrats on your clippie!!!! Hope your lunch was great!

Keep on
Chris

:sunny: Good morning! I'm happy to be here at my journal today, planning another day of healthy living! :sunny:

Yesterday we had a super nice visit with Doreen and Todd and enjoyed a nice lunch together at Bahama Breeze. Doreen and I chose our meal very carefully--she had blackened chicken breast with broccoli (good job on that broccoli, Doreen :p ) and cinnamon sweet potatoes, and I had a portobello and grilled veggie sandwich with a side of fresh fruit salad. Oh, and our table shared an appetizer of coconut shrimp (each of us getting 1, except DH who went for 1/2 the extra lone leftover shrimp). The dessert menu looked quite yummy, but Doreen and I were true to our programs and we skipped the sweets, though I had 1/2 a coffee w/caramel syrup. WE WERE STRONG! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Oh, a special non-food treat was riding around the mall with Todd. I thank your DH, Doreen, for the nice ride! ;)

Today's a new day, and I'm moving forward. The plan:

1. Devotions :)
Daily Thoughts:
A Time to Think:
The very act of believing creates strength of its own. -Anonymous
(I find this thought very true. If I believe I can walk this walk successfully, I'm well on my way.)
To Act:
Try something new everyday. You never know what you’ll end up loving.
To Pray:
Lord, let me not forget that Your blessings are to be shared.
2. Vitamins--I'll pick 'em up soon.
3. Water--I'm still working on my morning coffee. Priorities, after all.
4. Exercise--It's so doggone humid, I'm thinking I'm just going to try for my little 1.25.
5. Food--I'm happy for the structure of Monday. I feel like I dodged a minefield of temptation this weekend! :p I'll write out a plan for the day after I'm done here.
6. Scale--happily steady at 180. I made it through 'til MONDAY! Now, no more scale until Friday a.m.

Have to have DDs friend at play practice by 9 a.m., then the dog goes to the groomer at 10 (or is it 10:30? Better check). I've got a lot of kids out today, so I'll most of the day to finally get our laundry put away and to run a few more errands.

I'm turning this healthy living day over to the Big Guy and trusting He'll give me the strength I need to make good choices.

:grouphug: to all,
Erin

We DID have a great time, didn't we? Always fun to get together with good friends. ::yes:: I do think that's the first time we met up and actually STAYED on plan with our food, so bravo to us!

You sound centered and happy today, dear Erin. You're ready to take whatever life throws your way and make the best of it. I wish you a happy and healthy day! Thanks to your inspiration, I'm back on the healthy eating road today. We can walk it together! :cool1: :cool1:

Your idea about a Valley Forge training walk sounds good, but the calendar is starting to get very crowded. I'll check for available dates when I get home tonight. Any excuse to get together is a good one in my book! :hyper2:

Love ya,

Good morning Erin!

I'm glad to hear that you and Doreen had a wonderful time yesterday! :goodvibes I hope you have a healthy and happy day today! :sunny:

:sunny: Good morning! It's Tuesday! Today I'm celebrating 15 days on program, free from compulsive eating behaviors! :sunny:

OK, I knew it was bound to happen--TOM and PMS would start getting involved with my little journey here. . .I'm 9 days away and I can feel the old familiar fatigue and "whatever" attitude creeping up on me. I know that I have to be strong through the next few days. I know Phil. 4:13, right? :goodvibes I'll be darned if I'm going to let my hormones dictate my weight loss success; I know that if I give in, any weight loss that I'll have for the month will be gone in a blink. I need to just :boat: on through it. It's nothing I haven't experienced before! One day at a time. (How's that for a pep talk? :p )

The plan:
1. Devotions :)
Daily Thoughts:
A Time to Think:
There must be more to life than having everything. -Maurice Sendak
(That made me :) this morning!)
To Act:
Listen for and enjoy the laughter of children.
(I'll celebrate the joy of my students and their families.)
To Pray:
Dear Father, thank You for the opportunity of this day.
(And it IS a day full of opportunities--to love, to laugh, to enjoy the abundance all around me.)
2. Vitamins--for sure
3. Water--wouldn't be without it! :drinking1
4. Exercise--I'm up early today so I can get in a lap or two
5. Food--The plan is written out and I'm sticking to it!
breakfast #1: Cinnamon hazelnut latte (2)
breakfast #2: Raspberry yogurt with fruit and walnuts (4.5)
lunch: mini multigrain bagel (2) with cream cheese olive spread (3)
snack: grapefruit (1)
snack: assorted fresh veggies (0)
dinner: mandarin chicken salad w/sesame dressing (15), wheat roll (3), and 1 pat of promise margarine (<1)
Target: 24, AP: 2, Flex 6.5
6. Scale--? :)

So, guess I should move forward into the day. Housework, errands, teaching. Sounds like a usual day. If I can, I'll get some cross-stitching in there. I forgot how relaxing I find it to be.

:grouphug: to my WISH friends,
Erin

Morning Sugar Plum! You have been such a ray of :sunny: in my journal lately. Do you know how much your post mean to me? They make me feel like :cheer2: in the morning.

Congratulations on 15 cheat free days! That is WONDERFUL! That is quite the accomplishment and I hope you are patting yourself on the back. Have you checked the scale lately? Is it going down?

~Amanda

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: 15 CHEAT FREE DAYS!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I LOVED your pep talk this morning and will be applying those ideas to myself today. You're right! We CAN master what goes in our mouths, in spite of those hormones and their efforts to way-lay us. We've got to remember that the hormone cycle was important hundreds of years ago, when women were having lots more babies and living on a lot less food. In our time of plenty, the hormone cycle is a bit obsolete. As intelligent women, we know better what our bodies need. ::yes::

You sound :sunny: and centered. :cool1: Walk the walk, dear princess: Erin!
