Does anyone have any good ideas on something to make our luggage easy to identify? Tie the same color ribbon on each handle? Any better ideas? We have quite a mish mash of luggage and it would make it easier to find with some obvious id that was the same on each piece.

i know this sounds tacky but put a bumper sticker across the suit case. it is removable when you get back home take it off

I make a bright yellow luggage tag with a lime green mickey head on it and use that for ID. I also hang lime green mickey heads anywhere I can hang it from the luggage.

Most of the luggages coming down the belt are black, so the bright yellow really stands out.

It looks like this:

it's 3x5 inches and I laminated it and punched a hole at the top. Then I wrote our last name, my work address, and cell phone number.

We just flew to Dulles a few weeks ago, and I tied a wide royal blue grosgrain ribbon to each of my suitcases. It worked out really well- my parents had pulled our bags off the carousel before the boys and I even made it down to baggage claim. She said that it was really easy to look for the ribbon. Just use an unusual one- unusual color or width or pattern.

We have these big red Mickey head luggage tags.

My grandmother ties a bright red ribbon to all her suitcases - works every time.

Once her baggage beat her to the baggage carousel and without even knowing what her luggage looked like, i was able to collect her luggage without her because of the bright red ribbon! :rotfl:

I use red mickey shaped tub non-skid stickers on my luggage. They make the bags easy to spot and I know those are made to get wet and still stick so I don't have to worry that they may come off.

I just returned from WDW May 22nd and just prior to leaving came across lime green duct tape at Michaels. I wrapped the handles of my luggage with it and then laminated lime green Mickey Heads from Home Depot and tied them at luggage tags. (I bought the laminating luggage tags at Wal Mart.) Anyway between the lime green handles, lime green luggage tags, and bright yellow DME tags the luggage was easy to spot.

my mom always had us put our last initial on the bottom of our suitcase using either "wite-out" or colored tape... since most luggage is lying on its side, it's easy to spot :flower:

We put a strip of red duct tape on each side of the luggage. You have to mark them in some way, because most luggage does look alike.

When I sent my grandson home by plane last Fall with a new rolling duffle I tied black, red and gold curling ribbon on the handle so he and his mom could easily identify his new bag.

I rarely get to fly, I'm a local. But my luggage is always obvious. I'm artsy. My luggage has painted on underthings escaping the pockets, and a painted on wad of cash coming out the small pocket on the side. Occasionally someone will grab at the fake cash, so it's entertaining and distinctive. :rotfl2: I stole the idea from a magazine years ago.

We've always used colored tape to mark our last initial on the outside of the bags, especially the black ones. Yes, it may look tacky to have a 12 inch "F" on your bags, but no one tries to walk off with it either, and we always know which one is ours.

You can get almost any color Mickey head at Home Depot in the Paint Department to use as a luggage tag. Laminate two of them back to back, write your contact info on one side, punch a hole in it and attach it to your suitcases. One of the earlier posters on this thread attaches it to a different color 3 x 5 card, I think she said. Best part is they're free! :earboy2:
