If you take a limo service from the airport, how do you check your baggage at the port. I have always taken the disney transfer. How is it different
thanks
Dan

Luggage at the Port is more like airport check in. There are curbside porters that will take your luggage from you have it delivered onto the ship and sent to your room.

And don't forget to tip the porters - that is how they make a living.

This is important for another reason as well. When we cruised on 7-31-04, one of the parties that went with us forgot to tip at the port. There was 2 carloads of people with this party, the gentlemen who would normally handle the tip, went to park the cars and just figured someone else would finish-up with the bag transfer. All of their luggage tags were cut-off and they didn't get their bags until late that evening. And guess what? They were not the only parties that were missing their bags, and as they were standing around selecting bags, it was uncovered that each person there had their tags cut off, and that in each case they neglected the tip.

Ok, I would have seriously been po'd! It could have been a complete accident that someone did not tip them. I would have really got on someone's case!

Just wanted to add...we have never done the disney transfers..so I have nothing to compaire to...but it all seemed VERY smooth to me....The limo pulled us up to the curb side...right by the main entrance...where the porter was waiting. We didn't need to flag anyone down....or wait for anyone AT ALL. We also had WAY more luggage than any one family should have...we were willing to lug around our extras for the day...but the porter gladly took everything except what we really needed...he had extra tags and taged our extra bags right there on the spot.

I totally agree! I was a waitress for YEARS and had regular customers that didn't believe in tipping. Did I like it...NO, but I continued to give them the same great service week after week that I gave everyone. Definitely not the type of service I'd expect from Disney CM's. How juvenille!

One note in defense of Disney CM's. Those are port workers who take the bags there at the ship, not Disney employees. Uncalled for nonetheless.
