luggage transfer from AKL to BWV?

we want to try to save some $ by not renting a car most of this trip.
unfortunately, the thought of doing resort transfers w/o a car really makes me cringe.

so, first i wanted to find out... does Disney do luggage transfers between AKL and BWV? we're staying at BWV on points, but AKL is a cash ressie. does this make a difference as far as the luggage transfer service?

also... i've read reports of people who did the luggage transfer, but Disney took a really long time to get the bags to the new resort... or they had to get people to "track down" the luggage because they didn't know where it was.

we don't want to risk not having our bags be there when we need them. so should we just do the trek ourselves? we travel really light, so it'd just be one rolling carry-on per person (just me and my bf). is there even a bus that goes from AKL to the Boardwalk area? *cringe*

Yes, Disney will transfer your luggage for you. However, like you've heard already...once you give up your luggage - it's in their hands and you can't get it until they get around to re-delivering it. I know someone who gave up their bags early (at 8am or something I think) and they didn't turn up at their new resort until 3-4pm, even though they were able to check into their room much earlier.

There is no bus direct between AKL and BW, your best bet if you don't want to give up your bags to the mercy of bell services is to jump in a taxi.

Oooo I hadn't even thought about this and I'll need to transfer my luggage from Swan to AKL so I think I'll hop into a taxi.

We have transferredd our luggage twice. Once from DL to BC it took from 7 am to 3 pm before we got the luggage. Remember they have many people doing the same thing. We knew this and was just glad that there is no cost and it was easlier for us. would do it again, we just went into the parks, then when we went back to hotel there was our lugguage. Hope your trip is wonderful and magical.
