Luggage transfer between resorts to no longer include food?

I typically order beverages (diet Coke or Diet Dew) in 2L, 20oz bottles or cans when we split our stays between studios and 1BR's. I put the bottles/cans in the mini-fridge in the studio while we are there and then have bell services transfer them (with our other luggage) to the 1BR when we move. I just put the unopened ones back in the grocery bags. I don't expect them to stay refrigerated though...is this something that they would still be willing to move as "luggage"?
We moved to BCV today and they transferred a small bag of non perishable items (snacks, leftover bagels) along with our luggage. We were also informed the new policy went into effect only two days ago.

They moved my things in May, so this sounds like nonsense. COVID was much more impactful in May than it is now, the D version not withstanding.
I don't think it has anything to do with COVID-19. I think it has to do with difficulty maintaining proper temperatures of perishable foods - or, more importantly, medication, e.g. insulin - during transport from one resort to another. I think they just don't want to be responsible for perishable medications and food anymore.

Well they will be moving my huge Styrofoam cooler that I buy off Amazon and have delivered to the resort to store my cold stuff in. I will throw in a few ice packs and it will be fine. It won't be any worse than the Owner's Locker. I will leave it in the room when I check out and they can worry about it.

I’ve read they won’t transfer refrigerated/frozen items between resorts, but will they accept them as a delivery and store them appropriately? You know, at the beginning of your trip to the initial resort??

Hang on, are other hotels also ceasing cold(er) storage? If I stay at a higher end Hyatt, Hilton, etc, can I reasonably expect to put a few temperature-sensitive items in appropriate storage? If so, this is another example where Disney is offering a much higher priced lodging experience with less service than current industry. Pay more, get less.

My parents can't have their medication get too hot, so Disney is telling them "good luck with that" upon transfer? Because of a limited number of liability circumstances? This is ridiculous... Imagine removing service for instances of possible liability. They don't remove walkways because of risk of slipping, they put out a caution and walkers accept risk by its use. They no longer close the parks because of risk by airbourne disease transmission, they put out a caution and attendees accept risk by entering the park. Closing avenues to more safely store temp-sensitive goods is a cost cutting, service reduction opportunity. It is not in alignment with all the other ways in which Disney asserts inherent risk by availed use.

If I stay at any Hyatt I can request this service while I am there in the hotel. I've not dealt with them accepting or caring for my medication before I arrive or after I leave. In most cases I would not let it out of my possession.

I don't expect Disney to take charge of my medication. What I do expect is a refrigerator in the room to store it once I've checked in.

Disney will store their medication if your parents deliver it to Bell Services themselves. Disney will not transfer your parents' medication from one resort to another because Disney is no longer accepting responsibility for keeping it cold while it is in transit from one resort to another.

There have been recent reports here on the Orlando Resorts and Attractions board that the Wyndham Bonnet Creek timeshare resort is no longer accepting grocery deliveries or storing groceries/perishables at all.

So can you transfer things yourself by using Disney transportation? We travel light and will have just a couple carryons or maybe one carryon with one slightly larger bag. It’s not a big deal to me to take my own luggage but wasn’t sure if they can be taken on the buses.

Luggage cannot be taken on buses / transportation. If you fit everything in a backpack each I imagine you could get away with it since they wouldn't know it wasn't being taken into the park.

When we were there we just did the Uber Black service that way we knew it would be a larger vehicle with luggage space. One morning it was actually cheaper than a regular Uber would have been.

They took our trash every day in a DVC villa as part of the “room check”. New towels on the 4th Day.

They will safely store your items upon arrival-they won’t transfer it to another hotel. If you can take yourself to the next resort they will store it for you.

I’m confused. Will they take nonperishable food and non-refrigerated medications? If not, how would they even know if it’s in a suitcase?

I’ve seen at least one report from someone actually at WDW when this went into effect saying they’ll transfer a hard sided container with ice in it, so hopefully you’ll be fine!

What I’ve read in the several threads about this is yes, they will transfer nonperishable items. But I wish Disney would issue an actual policy - I know, ain’t gonna happen!
