I called MS to request additional tags, we are flying SWA so we get two free bags. MS told me if the second tag didn't arrive in time to cut the one tag in half. I thought this was a no no. Any thoughts?

Very Funny! I just had the same conversation with MS yesterday. In the past, I always just cut the tags in half with no issues. But I seen on the back of the tags "do not cut" (which I didn't remember seeing in the past). So I called, and the person I spoke to told me not to cut the tags. He told me to just give your baggage claim ticket to the person you are checking in with at Magical Express and they will find your luggage. Very scared I'm going to lose a bag. Has anyone else done this with success or failure?

You can also get your luggage yourself from baggage claim and take it with you to the bus.

I reserve DME via the member website. I sidestep MS when ever I can, they are just the middleman. I order extra yellow DME tags from DME by calling (866) 599-0951

Funny realy - but not off the wall :). Sort of depends on HOW you cut it in half....

There are two SIDES to a luggage tag. And the critical info is THE BAR CODE. Really - those DVC guys don't READ all that stuff :). They scan it.

If you do this - keep each SIDE intact. Strap to luggage with bar code exposed, using CLEAR unlined packing tape. We ALWAYS re-enforce our tags with this anyway, just to defeat the airline monkeys that tend to rip EVERYTHING off a bag :).
