We are coming to WDW for the first time Nov 7...we are a male 53 and female 51 and we have saved for 8 years for this trip...Disney has been a DREAM for me all my life...but...life got in the way...also son 24 and Girlfriend will be coming with us...maybe...just maybe we will be lucky enough to get a dream come true from Disney...to wax poetetically if I may...I used to watch "Wonderful World Of Disney" every Sunday as a child and young adult with dreams of going there some day...we are staying at CSR
All I can say is we have a count down going and CANNOT wait until Nov 7, 2007 at 5:30 am when we leave for WDW!!!!!:

Recieved Luggage Tags....do they tell us what building we are in???

Unfortunately they do not tell you what building you are in. Your room assignment isn't determined until closer to your check in. I think I read somewhere it's assigned a couple days in advance, though I could be wrong about that. What they do have is the nifty barcodes that when scanned tell the luggage handler what resort and room to take the bags too.

I read you can fax the resort with room preferances but they are not guaranteed.

The luggage tags are printed before room assignments are made so there would be no way to tell the room or building from them. I doubt that the service that prints the tags are even connected with the resort itself which makes the room assignment. The assignments are actually done just a few days prior to your arrival and that could even change as people check in on the day. Include any requests in your reservation and you can also fax the resort a couple days before leaving (although it has been debated whether faxes are looked at or not).

No matter where you stay you will have a good time. Sometimes it's kind of fun to not know where you will be and let it be a surprise when you get there. :thumbsup2

Your room really isn't 'your' room until they hand over your room keys. There have been many times when I have been assigned a particular room and when I asked if there was something open elsewhere, they were able to give me a different room. So..nothing is etched in stone before you check in.

At this point, the only information your luggage tags contain is which resort your lugggage needs to go to.It sure is exciting to see them in the mail though!:)

I just want to say have a great trip! I hope it's everything you're hoping it will be and more (it will be:wizard: ) anyway, have the best vacation and let us know how you liked CSR. We're staying there in Dec.:goodvibes

I received my luggage tags in the mail today and they do not say anything about which hotel we are staying at. They just have the castle in the clouds on one side with "Where dreams come true" on it and the other side is a slot w/ a piece of paper for me to fill in my info.

Are y'all talking about different tags? We are driving to Disney.

You do realize that you will be arriving during super soap weekend. It is great if you are a soap fan but if not many of the things you might want to do at MGM will not be available. just an FYI. tons and tons of people. We will be there also during this time period arriving the same day and staying at pop century.

You have the tags that come with a package reservation. They're just a little extra souvenir.

The other posters are talking about the tags that they send if you've reserved Magical Express. Those are yellow paper tags that folks put on their bags before they check them at their home airport. They have the guest's name and the name of the resort where they're staying, so the DME folks know where to deliver the bags.

I hope you have a most magical time! pixiedust: There's nothing like your first trip to Disney.

If you are trying to get a particular room, or a room in a particular area, you can call your resort a day or so before arrival and make a request. No guarantees, but it has worked for us.

We were going to originally arrive the Saturday of Super Soap Weekend and I saw the crowd level on Touring Plans and we changed it to arrive mid afternoon on the Saturday. We are going to avoid MGM until Tuesday.

Thanks for explaining this. The last time we went was our honeymoon in Dec 1992. It has been a while and I can't wait. This time we'll be bringing our 3 year old dd. I can't wait to see her face!
