Your flight info has no bearing on your DME luggage tags. Yes, you are asked for arrival flight info...but that's more for planning on how many buses they'll need.
As for those stupid bar codes? Yeah, they tell us the tags are scanned....but....we changed our resort from POP to POR. We had our DME packet really early and 'knowing' that the resort name on them didn't matter, I never called to make a change, or to get new tags. Silly me. My dd and I had no issue because we arrived at MCO by car, so had our bags with us. However, dd's friend had tagged her bag. When we all got to the DME podium, they said 'The line for Pop is there' and pointed. I told them that no, we were going to POR and it should say that! They fiddled around for a minute and then found the right info! Ok. But, then they said "Good thing you have your bags with you...that could have been an issue." Ooookay.....told him that our friend had, in fact, tagged her one checked bag. So, off one of the goes to the main counter.....said she needed to fix something so that the checked bag would be delivered correctly. After 5 mins she came back and said we were good to go! BUT.....after arriving at POR around 6ish, I figured the one bag would arrive around 9-10. No big deal...we were headed out to watch the fireworks at MK. We returned around 11ish..no bag. I called down...they said it wasn't there yet. At midnight I called again....seems it went to Pop!!! Finally got the bag at 1am.....after a day of travel, that poor girl just wanted to go to bed....because she had used DME before, she had had no qualms about putting stuff in her checked bag that she would need. She has learned a lesson I suppose.
We were told, contrary to everything I've ever been told, that we should have crossed out POP and written in POR! So, there ya go!
