Luggage Tag Exchange?

Stereotyping a tag to the sex of the guest is antiquated. I hate yellow and I'm not a fan of pink either, but I have a nephew who loves both.

Disney does allow you to customize. Want a blue tag, then order a blue band. I wanted a grey tag so I ordered a gray band. I started with a orange band (for Halloween) but I didn't want the goofy tag.

The tag is not free, it's a souvinier included with your package. I don't think anyone believes it is free. Just like those on Free Dining know that paying rackrate is how you get the food for 'free'. Paying up front with restricted cancellation gets a few coupons, a plastic tag, and a small discount.

Anyone know if you receive luggage tags if you book a Convention MYW package?

Probably bot. I booked woth runDisney on a sports package and even though it is Disney and a MYW packege we didn't get the luggage tags and it did not say anythkng about them in our booklet either.

Oh well, no big loss. Thanks for letting me know!

Goofy is with the green band, Pluto is orange

To the OP I wouldn't get your hopes up on exchanging them. With the old tags they didn't keep them onsite and if they were missing it was a sorry but there is nothing we can do sort of situation.

I'm hoping they do have them onsite now, because I'm hoping they will be tucked inside our Magic Band boxes waiting for us, since Disney won't send us the bands. But I would expect them to be sent the colours that match the bands you have ordered!

I think when they have people from outside the US they ship the band from the distributors to the resort. They don't stuff them onsite. That would mean they still don't keep a stock on site and stuff the boxes there for international guests. We had ours shipped to the resort one time and they told us they get them in batch shipments and then keep them around. Our box couldn't be found and they said it was highly possible they got thrown out so we had grey ones for that trip.

This cracked me up.. "Not to happy about a free thing from Disney." My Disney bill would tend to tell me this trip, tags and all included was not free, so get off your high horse. If you think the little extras are free, then I have a bridge to sell you in NY. If anything, I find it a tad disappointing that Disney does not look at the sex of the guest or allow you to customize. They seem to do it with every other selection and make sure your child receives a proper title. Anyway we will just roll with it as this poster suggested. It will not ruin our trip in the slightest. Thanks to others who offered to swap, but all is good and it is just a luggage tag. We will probably lose it soon anyway. Now let the countdown begin.

Oh and to the other poster who asked about when we received our tags, they were about 28 days away.
I agree...there is nothing "free" when you pay for your package. Even free dining is not really free.

I didn't get any for my stay starting tomorrow. I thought they just stopped doing them. I guess I feel between the old and the new.

What type of package did you book? These were only put in MYW packages. If you should have received them there should be a note in your white planning packet (the one they stick your Magical Express tags in now) that says discounts found in this book and then luggage tags underneath that.

It was a MYW package. I didn't notice any luggage tags though.

You no longer get the box when you get the onsite, they are on a folded piece of cardboard with the names on it, the luggage tags come in a little sleeve, they hand to you separately. We were there on Sept 30th and being from Canada they don't ship bands to us.

The fuss about what characters are attached to what color is kind of funny. It's a little piece of plastic. I had a pink band last time, I wanted blue this time so I got Donald Duck. Is he my favorite? Nope. I'll live though. I care way more about the color of the band that I'll be wearing.

A swap or exchange sounds fun though so people can collect them all.

We didn't book a package this time so we didn't get the luggage tags. What struck me funny, though, was that our ME tags came with a letter that said it was our "tickets" for ME. In the past, we had a booklet with everything in it.

glad to hear this, as was disappointed when got mickey mail recently for upcoming trip on Nov 7 and the new luggage tags weren't there. I had just gone in September and the old ones had come with the mickey mail. Glad to hear that will get the cool new ones when arrive since live in Canada as well.
