I have a few last minute luggage questions. We fly with virgin.

Firsty now they no longer issue luggage tags, what do you do instead?

Also on hand luggage, can I put a bag inside a bag and it be classed as one piece? It's just I wish to carry all the tickets etc in my small bag for ease of access. Also we are taking a laptop and my hubby is going to carry that inside a backpack, is that ok?

Any help would be great.

For your handluggage as long as your bag is not too big then you will be ok. I always have a handbag and rucksack with me and for boarding I just put my handbag inside rucksack and have always been ok.

As for luggage tags you can usually pick cheap ones up in the pound shops or you can make your own and laminate them.

Semi Chem over here is getting rid of a lot of the things on their travel stand half price, including luggage tags. I make my own. I also put my initial and surname as well as a contact number for the outbound and inbound on a piece of card which I staple to the inside of the lid of the cases.

I am doing the same as your hubby with the laptop. I bought a laptop backpack which takes a laptop and will fit my cameras and travel documents in as well. These backpacks are usually well within the dimension limit so won't be a problem.

I doubt you will be able to check your hand luggage as hold luggage unless you have pieces of your allowance to spare (i.e. you don't each have a case). Otherwise you need to take it on board with you.

I wonder why i didn't get any included, it doesn't really matter as i have decided to make my own up on the computer and laminated them :) It also helps me find my luggage at the other end if my looks different.

Thanks for the info everyone.

I forgot to add, if anyone travelling in early to mid October spots two cases with a picture of the seagull from Finding nemo and the words 'mine, mine, mine' in the background with large orange letters saying "PROPERTY OF 2TIGGIES" that would be ME!! So please come and say hello!

I had them done by Terri on the DISign board and printed them onto iron on transfer paper and ironed them onto the front of our luggage. I doubt anyone will lift them by accident :rolleyes1

Thats a good idea :)

I am going to in a little while make some up, will see what my craft cupboard has. I think bright colours with bright ribbons will be a good idea. I am sure i have some disney stickers i could add.

So 2tiggies your going to be there when i am there, i wonder if we will come across each other some where?

Oh forgot to say do i write the hotel name on them?

I do. I don't give my full name though or my home address. All they would need is a phone number to contact me. I also put the dates we will be in the US but only on the inside of the bag. My mobile number is all I give although I may give the resort number.

Just look out for my LGMH (I am still working on it - it is a bit out of shape :rotfl:) with 2Tiggies written in black across the front. I should post a pic of it and ask you all to do the same so I know what I am looking for.
