Travelling with Travelcity Direct this time and for the first time since going to Florida, have a 20kg per person allowance. There are 3 of us (DD gets luggage allowance too) and am only planning on taking 2 cases - does it matter if one is heavier than 20kg, as long as we don't exceed the 60kg total allowance? Never used to matter when going to Spain with friends years ago - one friend was the ultimate overpacker - luckily the rest packed light.

the baggage handlers at the airport wont lift more than a certain weight per case, if its too heavy they make you split it in to another case

I would also advise doubling your luggage through travel city its not expensive (but the charges for being over weight are when you get to the airport on your return, we got charged $300 last time)

I think the maximum per bag you are allowed is - I want to say 32kg??

It is definitely much more than 20kg with scheduled airlines, but whether this is different with chartered I don't know.

If you think you're going to pack heavy, send some stuff ahead to lower the weight. Mail it to yourself at the resort!

That can be very expensive from the UK!

We always need more coming home due to all the stuff we buy in Orlando :)

I won't be overpacking - if necessary will take another case. Don't need the extra luggage allowance. Just wondered what would happen if one case was 25kg - when we have a 'spare' 20kg between us.

Also travelling for the first time to WDW this September with TCD,from all the literature they send you it states that no one bag should be more than 32kg.
You can spread your 60kg allowance that you have for the 3 of you how you want too providing no one case is over the maximum allowed. IE 32kg.

Larry :bounce: :rolleyes1

Yes, the CAA have set the maximum weight of any suitcase to 32 Kg

Watch the weight of your carry ons as well, as some airlines have started weighing them at checkin

Thanks guys - should be fine then.
