Luggage Question

I'm doing the land/sea vacation and leave on 6/25. I received my cruise documents (YEAH!) and there are two tags in each booklet for luggage that has our hotel info and stuff on it.

We have the transportation included in our pkg, my question is this. Do I just slip that blue tag on my luggage before we leave and then it magically appears in my hotel room? Or, because I'm doing the land/Sea, do we bring our own luggage for the land portion?

People on the board were talking about great luggage tags they received--I didn't get those...

Does anyone have the answer? Or do I have to call Disney again....

Since you have transportation as part of your package you put the tags on before you leave home and they will go to the hotel for you. You will also get instructions once at the hotel on when to leave the bags in your room or in the hall (can't remember which) the morning you leave for the cruise and they will be taken to the cruise for you. Nice and simple.

We did land/sea on May 15th and we also put the Wonder tags on our bags before we left our home city. (we were SO confused because people were getting Magical Express tags...we didn't know WHAT to do)

Anyway you will still have to go to the Disney Welcome Center, stand in a very quickly moving line (IMO) and show your documents and present the coupon that says Magical Express. Then you go stand in line acording to which resort you are going. We made several stops at other resorts, and by the time we checked in at the Poly, then checked in again with the cruise desk, a couple of bags arrived when we got to the room.

On Sunday morning, our bags were picked up in our rooms (we were still in them) at 8am the morning of the cruise.

Have a great time!!!

There are two sets of tags.

1. The colored (cardboard?) tags with your resort name on them, used when the land portion of your vacation comes first. You put these on the luggage for automatic delivery to the resort. Not sure if or when Disney may make DCL and ME baggage tags the same color, the latter are yellow, they work the same way.

2. Souvenir tags (cloth or plastic?) into which you can put your business card or a card with your name and address. I don't think all guests receive these. You might ask at your resort about these.

The confusion about the tags Seashore CM was that many people arriving on or just after May 5th were all told they'd be getting "Magical Express" tags. Since we would indeed being using ME to get to the resort portion of our trip, we weren't sure if we were supposed to receive those tags too, and place those on in lieu of the Wonder tags, since we wouldn't be going to the Wonder for a few days. With all of the confusion surrounding ME I was afraid that since some people were going directly to the Wonder from the airport on a Thursday, I wanted to make SURE that my luggage went to the Poly and not to the Port. Even though there was a barcode and the word "Poly" printed on the tag, I was still very concerned. They included info on Magical Express in our cruise documents but never really made it clear how we were supposed to seemlessly become ME passengers without clear instructions as to how it would work. This was all further complicated by the fact that we arrived on May12th, one full week after the ME service began. The DisBoards were flooded with people worried that they didn't get their yellow tags...... In the end, cruise passengers were essentially unaffected by the ME service, it was status quo, but Disney could have done a better job of informing us of that. I called DCL three times to figure out which tags.... of the 3 calls, I got two different answers. I went with the majority opinion and fortunately that's what got my luggage to the Poly!

We did the 7 day land and sea cruise and boarded the ship may 15th. We were told NOT to put the Cruise tags on our luggage until the day we were leaving for the cruise. We did 3 days at the parks BEFORE our cruise.

We were picked up by a private limo service at MCO so we didn't use the Magical Express. Can't comment on that.

Hope this helps in someway!!:flower:

Have a wonderful vacation!!
