luggage question from airport to resort...

not sure if this is the place to post, but we received luggage tags for our bags and to my understanding, we don't have to pick up our bags from baggage claim upon arrival at MCO, Disney will take them and magically put them in our rooms at POFQ? We are on a land/sea package. Also I know our bags will go from our resort rooms to our staterooms onboard the wonder. Just trying to confirm that, even though it appears that is what the paperwork says. We just get off the plane and go straight to magical express? Then we check in at the resort and can go off and do our thing?

Reaon I am asking is because our plane arrives at 4pm and we have 7pm ADRs at Brown Derby...hoping we can make it...

I too am wondering how the magical express works. When we go- we'll be travelling with my parents and my kids. My father uses a scooter to get around from place to place. We have to check the scooter at the airport- so how can we get the scooter back when we land at the Orlando airport? Will we be able to get it from someone at the airport or will we be outta luck since we're using the magical express?

Speaking from experience.....

Disney picked up my bags from the airport and placed them in my room while I was enjoying the parks.

The day our cruise set sail, Disney picked up my luggage that morning and when we arrived in our stateroom, our luggage was there.

They also picked up our luggage for our departure from the ship and had it waiting for us when got off.

We never carried our own bags other than taking them from the car into the airport on departure day, and then on the day to head home from port to bus, bus to airport and airport to car when we arrived in DFW.

Your FIL scooter will be gate checked and you will have the scooter with you until you are boarded on the plane. Once you arrive at your next destination (IE: to transfer planes or land in Orlando) you will have to wait until most everyone has deplaned and then your FIL's scooter will be once again at the doorway of the plane. At least that is how it works for w/c's and strollers. You will need to ask for a GATE CHECK when you check in first thing.

I agree with the gate checking the scooter and how the Magical Express works. However I would advise that if your plane lands at 4pm and you have 7pm dinner ressies that you should be prepared to have what ever you need or want in your carry on. We use ME in December and it did take over 3 1/2 hours to get our luggage in our room. We came in at about 9pm to the resort and our luggage came at 12:45. Otherwise I love the ME!!! Make sure you put your yellow luggage tags on your luggage and all will be fine!!

Ok, so we land, hop the bus, check in, hop another bus to MGM...right? We all just had a big discussion about it last night, and I suggested just what huge mickey fan did have what you need in your carry-on...

I carry this in my carryon....clean undies, any toiletries I may need to get me through for the first few hrs (deod, toothpaste/brush, suntan lotion) all in those 3 oz sizes in the clear ziploc baggie, my travel documents as well as resort reservation info/park passes, swim suit, and shorts/tee shirt to change into. This way I can checkin and then either swim or head to a park.
If you are arriving at 4ish, you will most likely be at your resort checkin in around 5:30. Head to your room, freshen up and then get right to the bus stop for MGM.

The folks who pick up and transport luggage for DME guests will ONLY take checked luggage that has a yellow DME tag. So if there's something that you don't want them to take, such as the scooter, just don't put the yellow tag on it.
