We had a terrible morning. Missed our plane due to the security lines being very very long. Only 2 other flights going out in our city today and both booked. We had to call the airlines and the WDW and finally after several hours on the phone we were able to reschedule our trip.
So after a very disapointing day we are rescheduled for June 29th departure.
:sad2:

That is a complete and total NIGHTMARE! :earseek:

and yet, you seemed to have perservered, as you have a new date set - go get 'em! :moped:

OMG--they couldn't get you on anything tomorrow morning either??? No flights that would connect you to a flight to get you there at some point today?

Either way I'm sorry to hear.

OMG!! How awful! I'm so sorry. At least nyou were able to reschedule. :sunny:

So sorry you missed your flight.
I tell everyone in my family that you can never leave to early for the airport before a vacation. We generally leave 3 hours before our departing flight time. We live 35 minutes from the Indy airport. You never know what you are going to run into; flat tire, traffic jam, long security lines, etc, etc.
Glad you were able to reschedule. Just curious, did you use Magical Express for your luggage?

I'm so sorry and I'm glad you were able to rebook: )
It's a good lesson for others though. Always leave plenty of time for getting to and through the airport and make sure you go to your gate and check in as soon as you are able to.

June 29 is the soonest you can go? I don't get that. I'm with the other posters. Security lines have never held us up. We always get to the airlines at least 2 1/2 hours early. We plan on dinner at the airport and drinks. We actually think it's fun to hang out at the airport before our trip.

This is something that no one should have to endure to travel, especially on a holiday trip. I can remember, a few years back, going to an airport and driving up to main entrance and walking right onto a plane without a security person in sight. I wish those good old days could return, but they are gone forever.

We could of left tomorrow morning for an additional 500.00 per ticket. We couldnt get rooms for a week at WDW till June 29th. We will be arriving several hours early at the airport on June 29th.
We were not using the magical express transportation. They sent our luggage on even though we couldnt get on the following flights. Our luggage should be arriving home from Orlando this evening around 9:30. We are keeping our fingers crossed.

I feel your pain!!! This happened to us in January. The Nebraska weather was so bad that after 5 1/2 hours on the runway we pulled back into the airport to find out that we could not get there until the next night. We were only going for 5 nights and with two gone we decided to re-schedule for May. We had a wonderful time on our trip but it was hard explaining to our 2 and 5 year old that we had to come back home for a few months to start all over.

This happened to us in January. Same thing, security took SO long. We had checked in a good hour before our flight as well. We ran.......imagine the scene from Home Alone......all the way to the terminal and they had literally just shut the gate. We had to wait a few hours and take a connecting flight with a three hour lay over in some tiny little airport in SC. Exhausting day to say the least, I feel your pain! Glad you were able to reschedule though!

Our luggage went ahead of us as well, as we had checked it when we arrived! It was waiting for us in the office, which was kind of nice really, didn't have to wait for it at all.

What airport were you flying from?

When we were waiting for our flight home a couple weeks ago, there were several people who were running for a Jet Blue plane at the next gate right before it closed. We always get there plenty early so we don't have to worry, at least 2 hours.

i'm sorry you missed your vacatgion.

am i the only one a bit concerned about the luggage going on the plane when the passengers didn't make it? i thought that if a person didn't actually get on the plane that the luggage was pulled for obvious reasons.

Nope you are not the only one thinking that. As a matter of fact I was thinking that would be condsidered a major breach of security and the airline could possible face a penalty for it....if it was made known. Then again, I could be wrong. :confused3
