Luggage carts at MCO

I know I can rent Smart Cartes at baggage claim upon arrival in MCO.

Does anyone know if they take credit cards or is it cash only?

Are we permitted to roll the carts all the way over to the Hertz rental car pick-up area? We are very familiar with MCO, and know how to take the elevator from baggage claim, crossover to the garage, etc., just have never needed to do it with a luggage cart before.

Lastly, if we roll the cart all the way to the Hertz car pick-up area, is there a place over there to return the cart or do we just leave it randomly, or need to return it to the terminal?

While we usually travel with carry-on only, or at most a suitcase with wheels, we are in an unusual situation this time and will have a massive amount of luggage.

You can take them to car rental. They usually direct us to leave them in a certain spot. As far as I know they take cash only. Be aware, we put in 5:00 and the machine jammed. We spoke to someone at the airport baggage claim area and they couldn't help. Told we had to call the number on Smart Carts. No one answered.

I always do a credit card and leave at rental car if I’m renting or at MAgic express bus if I’m taking the bus.

Leaving the carts at the rental car garage is good Because it allows a family who are Returning to use it

( It could be a long walk to Find a cart at Return Check In )
