Hello. Due to knee surgery we are reviewing our options for transportation from SSR to Port Canaveral in Nov. For those of you who have used Minnie to get to/from port, how is luggage handled? That is when we arrive at PC, how do we check our luggage? It is only going to be my husband and me so I believe we will have 2 rolling suitcases but I will likely still be using a cane. If it makes a difference we are sailing concierge.
Any tips or info cheerfully accepted. Thank you.

Sailing Concierge will not make a difference since there is no Concierge service curb side. However, whatever way you arrive, there will be porters at the curb to grab luggage taken out of vehicles.

Would you be able to board a bus ? If so, the DCL shuttle would allow you to leave the luggage in your SSR room and get it back at the stateroom onboard. You would have to bring your luggage to the SSR lobby if you use the Minnie Van.

I would use bell services to get the luggage if need be. Frankly the stairs on the bus are what has me considering Minnie.

Also, thanks for the porter info. Prior cruises we have stayed at the Hyatt and done that luggage process so I didn’t know about porters. Thanks.

The porters at your hotel will take your luggage and put it in the Minnie van. Once you arrive at the port the porters there will take your luggage and deliver it to your cabin. Be sure to have your luggage tags on your bags and keep any RX and electronics with you in a small day bag.

If doing the Minnie Van, you can also pay for a luggage service. It's $25 for the first six bags and $3 for each extra bag. You have to call the day before to give them your Disney room number and room number on the cruise, along with how many bags. Then leave them in the room when you leave, and they will get them. We are doing this in October with our group (so we don't have to haul them down).

That is great to know. It was't an option for our two previous Minnie Van trips to the port. Do you call embarkation services? Thanks for the info.

The number I got for port rides is 407 566 3600 option 1

Thank you. Is that the number to book a Minnie Van or to add the luggage service or both? When I've booked I think each time it has just been through the regular DCL #. The agent says they've requested the van and that I will receive an email confirmation. It may be a bit diffferent for us since we need a van with a wheelchair lift? At any rate, I'm thrilled that luggage pickup is now an option.

Since we were inquiring about SSR to PC, this was the number that they gave me to arrange the service.
