Lucky the dinosaur will soon be extinct

Just seen the news on www.screamscape.com that Lucky will no longer be in AP after 31st July.

I was looking forwards to see this in October. Does anybody know more about this and if it would return?

That's very sadn news - I hope it's really not true. We were there in May and saw Lucky - he was great! A lot of interaction with the crowd. The day we got to see Lucky, my DH had just purchased a fedora to keep the sun of his head. Lucky was coming around the corner with his "keeper" and they noticed his hat. Lucky just had to try it on! It was one of our magical moments.

If anyone knows what's going on, please respond!

Lucky was never a permanent addition to Animal Kingdom. He was coming to Animal Kingdom for 2-3 months as part of the Happiest Celebration on Earth, and was then to make his way back to California Adventure. Sorry!

Yes that is true, right at the beginning, WDW made this clear that Lucky would only be in Florida until July. (However, since we will be back on July 20th, we will get to visit him again--saw him in May.) Lucky is to be shared with all of the parks during the celebration. NOTE: this is ONLY a guess on my part, but after the celebration, wouldn't it be logical that Lucky make his permanent residence in the AK.....hmmm...you think? Or maybe he'll be back to kick off the openning of Mt. Everest in the Spring?? I have nothing to validate these thoughts, just thinking out loud.

Well maybe you could "think out loud" to the folks at Disney b/c we sure would LOVE to see him, but our trip this year is in October. I'd like to go back for Everest and seeing Lucky would make the trip even better.

Awwww...I don't want Lucky to go I knew he was only here for a short time and I am so glad we got to see him on our trip in May. My son even got to interact with him..which was a HUGE magical moment for him.

I hope Disney will see how popular Lucky is and let him stay or make a twin for him at WDW

That's to bad, he was a cute addition to the Animal Kingdom. We saw him in May and my boys thought he was fun to watch interact with everyone.

This is great news for me because I had read that Lucky was only going to be at WDW until 7/5 and I arrive 7/6 so I thought I was going to miss him.
