I know we have quite a few HBO series watchers here and I was just wondering who has seen this and did you like it?

I've seen the first 2 episodes and the jury is still out for DH and I.

I'll get back to you. I tivo-ed a few episodes but haven't watched yet.

We are leaning towards skipping this one after two episodes. They are trying SOOO hard it's annoying. You don't have to use every curse word in your repertoire for it to be funny. :happytv: I'm far from a prude and probably say much worse every day  but it just seems to be forced. It had potential in that first week but this last week was just not good at all I don't think. They take a 5-10 minute bit and stretch it out for 30 minutes. We'll probably give it one more chance and then we are giving up.

I should add I am not counting damn and hell in the cursing ;)

I watched the first one, and had a hard time staying with it, so I skipped episode 2......just seemed forced to me also

As a huge HBO series lover... I am disappointed in this one. The first show opener with the daughter asking "why" about 20 times was funny... but the rest, do couples really act that way with one another? :confused3

That is exactly what I said to DH and we're HARDLY clean mouthed prudes.

Not just that... which is bad enough... but go without.... ahem.... you know for soooooo long? :rolleyes1

1) Those women do not go with those men (But I think this may be the First Law of Sitcoms. Have a schlumpy, nondescript, poverty-level income-bracket type of guy and then get him a hottie wife who wants to have sex with him constantly because that is what hot women do, go for unkempt, poor, nondescript guys)

2) Their apartment complex depresses me. I keep expecting the Good Times theme song to play, esp. when they were at the check cashing place.

I kinda like it. I've grown to despise sitcoms, but when one breaks the mold as this one does(with the language and the situations) I will watch. At least for a while :)

DW (the other half of amy4bruce) and I watched the second episode. We turned it off after 10-15 minutes. Basically, we thought it was awful.

The sad thing is that, through the miracle of TiVO, the night before, we had seen Louis CK interviewed on The Daily Show. He was very funny, and we had some hopes for the series.

Boy, do we miss Larry Sanders.

Well Larry Sanders was in a whole 'nuther league. ::yes:: That was one of the funniest shows EVER :happytv:

After seeing all your posts I think I will just delete the shows off my tivo. Does'nt sound like it's worth the time to watch. Thanks for all your input!

I had high hopes for this because I think that Louie and Jimmy Norton are very funny. I only caught the second episode and I was far from impressed. HBO usually has great series in their schedule so I will give it one more try. The episode that I saw was just pitiful.
