It seems we have more in common...I have a nephew who is a character as well. He is a bit younger than your nephew though...

The early extra magic hour had caught up to me – I needed a nap. I headed back to SSR for a nap and it was great. Actually, I think I spent more time reading than napping, but it any case I rested. My foot felt much better and I was ready to go.

I had a 5:45 pm dinner PS at Liberty Tree Tavern with CareBear05. I was really excited about this dinner for a couple of reasons: (1) I discovered this restaurant AFTER my trip last year and I wanted to test it to see if my family would like it and (2) CareBear05 was joining me. After spending several days on my own, I was looking forward to having someone to share a meal with.

In WDW, I am always early – I could only wish this happened in real life – and this evening was no exception. I arrived at MK around 5 pm and headed over to LTT. Just as I walked up, a rocking chair became available. Being a lazy bunny, I grabbed it, and spent the next 20 minutes reading and people watching. Shortly before our scheduled meeting time, CareBear05 snuck up on me! She introduced herself; we chatted for a minute and then went to check in.

At check in, they took my name and state and told us that it would be a few minutes. A couple of minutes later, they called us up. As we walked into the room, the hostess yelled out “Announcing the TT family from Connecticut.” That was kind of cool, but I felt bad for CareBear05. She is from Pennsylvania! The hostess let me know it was announce both names and states. Cool beans.

Dinner was a lot of fun. We took a ton of pictures. Here is a picture with Minnie and I…

I really enjoy period costumes, so I loved Minnie’s dress! It was beautiful. I wonder where I could get a dress like that. After Minnie, Dale showed up for a picture…

…then Goofy showed up…

....next was Chip…

…Pluto passed us by on the first time through, but came back to us later. Pluto, that happy puppy decided to…

…give me a kiss. Yucky, dog slobber! Just kidding.

After dinner, CareBear05 and I wandered around MK chatting. About half an hour before Wishes, we found an incredible spot to watch Wishes. We sat on the front left side of the castle.

I know I have said this before, but January is a great time to visit WDW. The park wasn’t packed. It was so nice to be able to get a great spot for Wishes and not have to fight the hordes! We were able to sit back against the fence and have a perfect view of the castle. It was amazing how close we were! For the first time, I was able to see Tink fly from the castle. After Tink’s flight, it was time for my favorite show in WDW.

After Wishes, CareBear05 and I followed the herd (mooo) out of MK to the buses. We agreed to meet the next morning at MGM.

Up next…Waaaaahhhhhhh!

I love your report, but I am especially impressed with the fireworks pics! I took about fifty pics of illuminations on my last trip, and a whopping one turned out well :crazy2: If you don't mind my asking, what's your secret?

Thanks for the fun reports!

You can ask away. I am not sure how much help I will be, but here goes...

First, I have a good digital camera. It is one of the higher end Kodak digitals (my dad works at Kodak and I got a good deal). I think that some of the older or not so good digitals don't handle fireworks pictures as well.

Two, I take lots of pictures and you are only seeing the good ones. There were some that were pretty aweful. Also, if you notice some of these are actually blurry...which leads me to my third point.

Third, for night time pictures the camera will need to hold open the shutter for longer periods of time. It is not possible to keep yourself perfectly steady in those instances. That is why some of mine are blurry - the camera wasn't steady. In a perfect world, I would have had a tripod...I didn't. Sometimes I propped the camera...but not for these pictures. I think that it helped that I was so close, so the fireworks had more light and thus I needed less exposure time. While my fireworks pictures turned out well, my Spectromagic pictures were not so good! That is a situation where I needed a tripod!

I hope this helps! A long, long time ago, I took some photography classes for a 35 mm. Some of the concepts transfer to digital. Some I have learned by playing with the settings on my camera. The joy of digital is you aren't wasting film with bad shots! the Delete button is a great thing!!

My DS and I loved your trip report. But one thing we noticed was that on your photos from LTT it seems you got Chip and Dale a little mixed up.

I thought that Dale had the dark nose...did I get this wrong? Oh now I am going to have a complex! Somebody help me with this one...I wonder if posted the pictures backwards...

Thanks for sharing your trip with us, I love reports with pictures. My youngest dd birthday is on Valentine's day too. We like going out to eat on our birthday's and it is hard to find a decent resturant that isn't so packed. We finally went today and my dd picked the best Chinese resturant in our area. So it paid to wait a few days

Happy belated birthday to you.

Duh! I guess I fail Chipmunk 101! That is okay though - I have the Disney rabbits down and for me, that is what counts!

I will try and work on another segment today.

Tara

That's a great way to tell the two apart. Chocolate chip, I wish I would have thought of that one. lol

That was one of the things I learned on the Backstage Magic Tour last December. Before that I could NEVER remember who was who. :teeth:

Great report Tara! It's getting me through my "Gawd, I miss Disney World!!!!" blues.

I would love to do WDW on my own one day, I don't think hubby would be too impressed with that though
