This is why in re-marriage situations you want to make sure you get a will drafted so you don't disinherit your children. This situation is all too common.
I have heard that both Lucie and Desi received $150 million each after their mother's death and that they still retain the rights to the "I Love Lucy" franchise.
This leads me to believe that Lucille Ball probably wasn't very specific in her will. She probably left the money and the rights to her children and left everything else to Gary Morton without bothering to itemize specific bequests. I am willng to bet that's why the Morton family is being so difficult about relinquishing any other item that might be of value.
But, really, they should just do the right thing and give the items to Lucie.
