OK, this trip was my idea. We visited Disney Quest when we were in Florida for a cruise a few years back, and had a great time, and I told my darling husband (DH) that just once in my life, I wanted to come to Disney World and stay at one of the resorts. When the Fairy Tale Package became available, I talked him into it. Murf had only been to the Magic Kingdom once, and that was when he was first out of the Navy, and the only thing he wanted to see at the time was a cold beer. After some discussions, and a promise that he could play golf on those PGA courses, plans were made. Through resorts were changed a number of times, (All Stars Movies, All Star Music, Riverside, and for just a bit more Wilderness Lodge,) then the discussion on whether or not to go with the Silver Plan, and the trip was finalized with us staying a week at the Wilderness Lodge on the Silver Plan, (which turned out to be a good decision for us.)
Our plan was for me to take off Friday to finish last minute trip details, including bank, library, pharmacy, & Secretary of State for car tags. DH (who was working overtime to finish projects before he would leave) was going to try to get home by 4pm, after which time wed nap until 10pm or so, then get up and hit the road running. Turned out HD got home a bit early, but friends and neighbors continued to dropped in to wish us well (but I paid them all back by requesting each one of them to keep an eye on our house and garden while we were gone.) As our naptime got pushed back I finally put up a Do Not Disturb sign on the door, and headed for bed. We slept for a whole hour and a half, and woke up raring to go. We loaded up the last minute items, and with Harry Potter book-on-tape in the CD player (thanks Knox Library System), by 7:50pm we were on our way. Walt Disney World Here We Come!
Murf drives 90 miles, and then I drive 100 miles, to the other side of Atlanta. Ive packed rollup sandwiches for the trip, so we wont have to stop to eat. Murf takes over and drives to Tifton, GA, where we gas up and realize its 1:30am, and this Ramada next door is looking pretty good. Boy, am I tired! Lets get a wake up at 6:30, Fine .
