Is it cool? I'm deciding as to whether to do the Premium or Platinum package and I know that this is a part of those dining plans. Do you think it's good enough to waste an evening on?

DH and I went while on our honeymoon in Sept of 03. While we enjoyed ourselves, I don't feel that its anything to write home about. The food was just ok. I will say that the entertainment was fun. Its one of those did it once and that was enough shows. IMHO. :)

We went to the Polynesian luau in 1997 and loved it (mostly for the entertainment altho not so much because I was picked to go on stage and do hula :rotfl2: ). Food was pretty good then - I made reservations for 2/1/08 for myself and bff and am anxious to see how it's changed.

If the food is only okay, than maybe I won't go.......I'm not going to waste my DDP credits on an okay meal..........

How is the food compared to Ohana's? I am also thinking of putting this on our to-do list. If it's comparable to Ohana's then I'll reserve.

We went in October 2005 and liked it well enough but I don't think we will ever go back. The show was good for the most part, but did have a corny storyline. My DS was 5 at the time and really enjoyed it. They do bring the kids up to do a dance at one point but he was too shy to do it.

I, too, thought the food was just ok. I have never been to Ohana's so I can't compare it.

All in all, though, I'm glad we did go.

Again, just my opinion, but Ohana's is far and away better as far as the food is concerned. Ohana is usually packed and is quite loud, but we really like the food there. Its served family style too, but there are way more choices.

This may be going off track but how do you get back to Magic Kingdom or your resort after the Luau? I've read transportation wasn't very good - am staying at BWV but want to stay and watch fireworks from Poly beach (don't want to miss bus tho either).

Unless they have changed the show recently I'd say skip it! We went in April 2003 (having not been to the show since 1979:scared1: ) and were very excited to see the Polynesian dancers again... not! It was replaced by a VERY corny stage show, major disappointment! The food was okay and the service was as usual great, but.....:confused3

Try Kona or Ohana, much better choices for the money.:thumbsup2

To the MK you just take the monorail or the boat. You could also walk over to the TTC and take the monorail to Epcot and then just walk to BWV.

Transportation at the Poly is very good but there is no direct bus from the Epcot resorts.

We were there in November and we loved the luau and thought the food was terrific! I probably wouldn't go back BUT I thought it was worth giving up 2 of our DDP credits each person and would highly reccommend it to anyone who has never been.

We went in 1998 for our honeymoon, it was a lot of fun and we enjoyed ourselves. I don't particularly remember the food being so great or bad....so it is probably just OK. We have meant to go back, but just never had, we are into exploring new things....so I would do it once, not overwhelming to be a "have to" thing. But definitely don't regret going, we still talk about it and how we should do it again!

We went in June with our four kids 16, 14, 5, 2. We had a blast. The food was ok but that is not why we were there. Like most things at Disney (and elsewhere) if you want to have fun, you will. Half the fun was stopping by the gift shop before hand and buying tacky (although very nice) Hawaiian shirts for everyone. I have a great picture of all of us with our hawaiian gear on that brings back great memories. I also have pictures and video of all four kids dancing on stage at one point or another. I don't think I would go though if I didn't have the kids with me. When it is just me and my wife I like to find someplace a little more intimate and quieter.
