I just was at the Luau with my DD6 on March 28th. She loved it. She wore her grass skirt and leae and head band. There are tables that are at the ground level and then there are more tables behind a railing a little further back. We went to the 5:15 show and were lucky to get a table right up front and to the left of the stage. The food was ok, appetizers of fresh pineapple and an orange vinagarette salad, then baked chicken, BBQ ribs, steamed vegetables and rice. They also serve a baked alaska that they make a big production over, carrying them to each table with a smoking volcano. There is also unlimited beer and wine and non-alcoholic drinks. They give you a leae upon entry.
When you sit down, you have the appetizers. Then they do a little show and bring the kids on stage and they teach them the hula. That show starts off with the Hawaiian roller coaster ride song. After that comes the entrees. After you eat, they have more show and another chance for the kids to get involved. Then the baked alaska and the finalle. The finalle is demonstrations of different pacific island dances, with the fire dancer at the end. By the time it was over, my DD6 was pooped. It started off with the sun being up, and ended in darkness. Since you have a 6 year old, I'd recommend the early show, unless you aren't doing any of the theme parks before then.
