Luau? HBD?

My husband and I are planning our annual Disney trip for the end of August. We're trying to start thinking about things we want to do. We'll be on the DxDP and are more than happy to share/eat snacks for breakfast in order to do signatures, etc. We'll definitely go to California Grill and Narcoosee's, but are considering the Luau (Polynesian), Hollywood Brown Derby, and Artist Point. THought?? Thanks in advance!!

Hollywood Brown Derby isn't a great deal on the DDP, so I'd put that to the bottom of my list.

Between Artist's Point and Luau the big question is whether or not you're in the mood for a show. I think that the Luau would be fun, but I'd expect that I was paying for the show versus the food.

I've heard good thing about Artist's Point. Reportedly it's one of the more quiet restaurants on property.

I wasn't a big fan of the Luau, I can't say I will over go back. The Brown Derby really isn't worth the 2 DDP TS credits. I have heard wonderful things about Artists point, but I have never been.

I absolutely loved Brown Derby. We went to the Luau and had a great time, but honestly I loved category I and would only do it that way which you cannot get on the dining plan. We thought the food was pretty good and the show was cute. Out of those 2 if I chose for food I would do Brown Derby.

We stayed at WL in December and ate at Artist Point. None of us were very impressed with the food there.

My vote goes to HBD and Luau!! I would do both.

You are on the deluxe dining plan...and staying at the Poly...I think the Luau is a requirement. The food is not the greatest but the entertainment is hokey fun and sometimes quite nice (I prefer the traditional stuff though...) the wine will give you a headache but I think its just plain good fun. Why not go to the late one and make it more of an after-dinner show?
