LTT vs. CP for dinner

We like buffets and family-style restaurants but we don't particularly like character dining. Which dinner has better food? I thought I had read that LTT wasn't getting good reviews recently though. Anyway, just curious which one people would recommend based on food choices for a family if characters were out of the equation.

Food is so subjective. CP definately has more variety than LTT. We just ate dinner there for the first time about a month ago and I wasn't blown away. It was good but not great. I've eaten lunch at CP & the dinner menu is very similar (I guess now it's exactly the same cause they changed it). I liked the food better but if you aren't into the characters, why not leave the park and head over to FW and go to Trails End? It's BBQ buffet and one of the best buffets on property imo and in others too. Plus it's reasonably priced for Disney. It also gives you a nice break from the parks. Just a boat ride away.

We're trying not to leave the parks for meals this time. It'll be party season so we're looking for a dinner in MK when we're there all day and staying for a Christmas party.

I like Crystal Palace better. I think the food is a little higher in quality, and you get to see Pooh!

I must admit, I'm leaning this way. We would prefer it if they didn't have characters (I know we can ask them to skip us, but then we would end up feeling left out! Lol) but I do think there will be more options for my picky eaters at CP than at LTT.

I would not pay for a character meal if I was not looking for character interaction. I think that if you have nto been to LTT, it is worth a visit. It's not my favorite, but as othes have already pointed out, food is subjective.

I would think about a CS meal if you are not happy with the AYCTE or buffet choices. There are good options in the MK to consider.

I was going to suggest Columbia Harbor House. It's QS, but the food is different than your typical burgers and fries and it's inside, which is nice, too.

We'll be on the "free" dining plan, so other than tips, the cost is covered already. My apologies for not mentioning that in the OP.

Yes, the meal is "covered" but you have paid for it. If the choices are not what you want, then don't squander the credit.

I would not compromise what I wanted because my meal was free, it is not. What I woudl do is change my mindset about teh meals that day. maybe have two CS and save the TS credit for a Signature meal, or perhaps have my TS meal earlier, and take a break at a monorail resort, then come back to the park.
