LTT No More Characters? GG No More Lunch? Check Your ADR's!

Just thought I'd mention this here for those with ADR's at Liberty Tree Tavern and Garden Grill.

According to a thread on the Restaurant board, LTT is getting rid of the characters! LTT will no longer be a character meal location after Janurary 4th, 2009 they said.

And the Garden Grill is going to stop doing lunch after October 5th, so that means they will be open for dinner, I guess after 4pm.

Just a heads up, seems people on the thread have called Disney Dining and were told these things are true....but still check for yourself before making any changes if you have ADR's.

I know the crew hated LTT, but it's my DH's favorite. It was our "must do" every trip.

I can't imagine why they take the characters out of LTT. I only ate there once, I didn't care for the food, it was okay, but the characters were fun and I know alot of other people love LTT so I'm really surprised. Weird.

I'm with you, it's disappointing to see the characters going. We've been there twice, and had such great interaction with them all, it really became our must-do meal as well. I tried to get ressies for our upcoming trip, but everything was filled for our party of 8! Now I'm really disappointed with this announcement.

I remember the 1st time DH & I ate there. It was pre-kids, so it was just the 2 of us. We were at a 2-top and unbeknownst to me, there was a bell on the wall behind me. Goofy snuck up behind me and rang the bell and scared the crap out of me! All future trips, we'd keep an eye on that table to see if Goofy got anyone else w/ that bell.

I had made a ressie for lunch at GG in December and then later I was told that they were closing the GG for lunch by the IPO at the Yacht Club.

My family loves GG for lunch. We think the food is great and we always get lots of time with the characters. Why are they doing this? The restaurant seems very popular.

They better do something about the food now 'cause ain't nobody gonna wanna eat there (LTT) once the characters leave! Good news! Loved the atmosphere of the place. Food = Bad.

Both are disappointing to me. We love LLT and GG. This news stinks!
