So I finally snagged a ADR for LTT on Mon. Oct 2nd, but the only time they had available was 6:55pm. My dilemma is that I didn't want to miss out on any of the MNSSHP festivities and I am wondering if I should forego the character dinner or is it worth it? I am planning on getting to MK early and ride some attractions before party starts. I guess by the time we finish dinner it will be time for parade/fireworks. What do you guys think?

I had this same dilema. The only time we could get was Halloween night at 7pm. I was worried the kids would be crabby because they would want to get to the party and not waste time eating. I ended up canceling our CM reservation and moving our LTT reservation to that day when they could relax and enjoy the characters instead of rushing to get to the party.

I love LTT (think its one of the best character meals around) but I would not do this on a MNSSHP night unless I could get a seating before 5:30. The party does begin at 7:00, if you want to see the parade and have little ones, you would be hard pressed to get out there for the first one. If they couldn't stay up late you could miss the parade altogether. And sometimes the whole overstimulated process of character meals can sort of take the wind out of your sails for the rest of the night. Given the popularity of this restaurant, it could be almost 9:00 by the time you are done if you have to wait or the service is slow. For what you are paying for the party I wouldn't do it. Try to go another night instead. Last year I had this same scenario. I ended up having no problem getting an ADR for a non MNSSHP night. We wanted to do MK another night anyway for Wishes and Spectro. I think the best bet for a MNSSHP day is rest, an early dinner at the resort and no time spent eating anything other than a snack at the event itself.

We have 5:00 for MVMCP. This a great time in order to enjoy your meal and not miss any of the party. If you could make it another night it would be so much better, we think it's worth the trip. Keep checking right up to the end for cancellations.

I made a PS arrangement for 5:55 for this year's MNSSHP on Oct. 16th. Will that give us enough time to be done by the time the party starts at 7:00?

Also, I heard that the wait staff dresses as ghosts from HM and that the characters are in their Halloween costumes. Is this true or is it just certain nights of the party?

We ate at LTT this past year for MNSSHP and loved it. LTT is one of our favorites and we do it everytime we go but this was the first time we did it on the same night as MNSSHP. The characters are dressed up. DD was Tink and Chip made her fly around the room with him and then had me put her tiara on his head. She absolutely loved it. (Although dd and Chip have this thing going on when it comes to Halloween, the time before at CM he stole her Halloween bucket and took off trick-or-treating at the other tables).

We had ADR's which got us out right about the time the parade was suppose to start. It was great because we walked out of the restaurant and got right up front and watched the parade before heading off to do other things.

I would keep it if I were you because you still have plenty of time to do everything.

When do the characters start dressing up? We have reservations at LTT at 4:15 on the night of MNSSHP (9/22). Will they be in costume at that point, do you think? :confused3

Thanks,

Disneyfriend

The characters don't really wear costumes, but wear masks or special aprons. They only do it for dinner (from when dinner hours begin; 3:30p - through restaurant closing) and only on party nights.

We did this in '04 and LOVED it. We had 5pm ADRs I think. All the characters are dressed for halloween including the hostess of LTT. The food is wonderful. With that said...I don't know if I would do it with such a late ADR. I think the party starts at 7pm and there is SO much to do and see during the party. Here's a hint though...Call disney back and SOMETIME they will open up earlier times. (I have no idea why they "hold out" on this but they do) I was even told to call up to a week in advance and see if they have anything earlier/later. Good luck. The dinner is GREAT!!!

Have a great trip!

Does anyone know what time the parades run? We moved our LTT reservations to 7:30 Oct. 28. We don't have tickets for the party that night but it would be nice if we could see the parade on our way in or out of the park.

Wow, I'm surprised (and a bit disappointed) that you were able to get such a late ADR when the park closes officially at 6:00p to non-party guests. :(

They will no longer let day guests enter the park at 6:00p. They also work very hard at escorting those guests without wristbands to the exits.

Those ADRs after 6:00p are meant for party guests and I don't get how you were able to get and ADR that is DURING the party.

We origionally had reservations for Halloween night, which is the night we have MNSSHP tickets. When we decided to cancel CM's on our first night I asked if I could move LTT to that night, even though we were not going to the party. The CM said that was fine, no problem at all just have your confirmation number at the gate and know that you have to leave the park after dinner. I just made these reservations last week. Sorry if that offends anyone...I was never told those reservations were for party guests only. Obviously the CM wasn't aware of that either. We're not trying to get a second party for free, I just though it would be a treat if we could catch a glimpse of the parade as we are walking out since I know if goes right by the LTT.

I'm not blaming you but just expressing my disappointment and surprise that you were able to have such a late ADR when not attending the party. It makes no sense to me.

You will not be able to enter the park after 6:00p without party tickets regardless of having an ADR or not.

I have solved the dilema. I just got off the phone with CM Galinda and when I asked her how I was supposed to get in the park without a MNSSHP ticket she told me the same thing the other CM did. Have your confirmation number at the gate. After a pause, she asked again what date my reservation was for and then told me it didn't matter anyway because there is no MNSSHP on Saturday. I don't know if there has been a change in policy, but this now makes the 3rd CM I have talked to about LTT reservations and none of them said I could not have a reservation without a party ticket. My Mom really wants to go to LTT so before I gave up the 10/31 reservation I made sure I could get a different date. The CM that day offered me several different dates (all later than 7 because I was looking for something around 6) but we took 10/28 and replaced one character dinner with another. Now I feel better knowing I have not been given a reservation that should have gone to someone else.

That's good for you.

Just think about it. How could they possibly let you in after 6:00p on a party night without party tickets? At 6:00p, regular park tickets don't work in the turnstyles and only party tickets work in the turnstyles so there would be no way to enter after 6:00p without party tickets.

If there was a way to get in because you have an ADR, then everyone would do this. It would be a BIG loophole for getting in for free.

After 6:00p, the park is officially closed to day guests and the turnstyles only accept party tickets.

I think it's just mis-informed CMs (or CMs that misunderstood) but I'm glad it worked out for you.

GREAT PICS! I love seeing the pics of your little redhead! How in the world did I end up with two blondies? (I'm a redhead, from two redheaded parents!) For the longest time my DD thought she had red hair! lol.

Thank you! I know what you mean. We all have brown hair so she was a big surprise! Someone actually asked me once if she was adopted! :faint:

Unless they've change it from last year you can not under any circumstances get into the park after 6pm on MNSSHP night if you do not have a ticket. There were people with all kinds of reasons they were told they could get in and the CMs at the gate didn't care. If you didn't have a ticket they were not going to let you in. I'm glad you got the situation taken care of. It would have been awful to have everone excited about something and then not be able to do it because you were given bad info to begin with.

You will LOVE LTT and the party! Have a great trip!

I think it depends on your family dynamics. My family has 6:20 reservations.
We will probably catch the second parade, be there a long time, take it easy. So remember, you may enjoy doing the stuff later.
