Caroline hang in there I'd imagine that she's going to battle you all the way. If all the sisters are on the same page it will help. The physical therapy is soooo important I fully believe that's what gave Nana so many more years. My mom and I worked her hard!

PT is a great thing for her to do, she needs to keep active and moving as much as she can!

Totally agree that the pt is essential to moving her forward. My sisters and brother (yes, he is the baby of the bunch)and I know that putting all these things together will benefit her quality of life - she needs to realize it too!
My sister did find out in a meeting with the case worker yesterday, that if the dr writes an order to have the pt, resp ther etc at home, the insurance will cover it also. Too many decisions that need to be made. ONE day at a time...

Quick update - she was in her "alter personality" (or as my brother affectionately calls her Mommy Dearest)when i arrived this afternoon - mad at the world. When i left at 8:45, she was herself. Refused phys ther today - they can't force her - but tonight left with the statement that she will try in the morning. My mom would be willing to try anything to get home sooner, but when she is not clear, well, you know the story. She does amaze us- at her age to have this strength.

Told me I'd make a great nurse when i retire in June - I can't even stand the sight of blood!!
