I am with you! (And I couldn’t get the first post to edit to put in the quote was for 2 people - only!
I consider these prices to be ludicrous. With 3 night runs (even in the summer) from Ft Lauderdale starting at $1600 interior or $2000 veranda, you could go on multiple trips for less cruise fare (with taxes) than this inaugural. Sure, it could be more in airfare. Or one could do a B2B. And those will be on the smaller capacity Magic
Somehow, the idea that being first guests, or that’s it’s an Inaugural, is just so important, is a great example of advertising and group think.
I have fallen for it - I sailed the Maiden Voyage if the Fantasy. I won’t do that again. The irony, of course is that it is not the first set of passengers, even. There was at least one cruise before ours. And the ship will still have that new ship smell for a good while. Let them work out bugs and sail when the crowd size normalizes, too.
I am probably preaching to the choir. For those who chose this sailing, I hope it brings you happiness and a fun cruise. This is not meant to be an attack on your life / vacation choices!
And it does look like a pretty perfect itinerary (I could always do without Nassau).
My issue is that the cruise line actually charges this much!
This is supply and demand. They will charge what the market will bear. For everyone saying "This is too much!" there are three others standing behind him shouting "TAKE MY MONEY"
I usually sail on the cheapest rates I can find. At this rate I'll be lucky to get to Lighthouse Point in 2026.

Keep in mind the astronomical cost of the destination to develop, construct and maintain the island itself. They are going to try and recoup as much of that cost with the allure of "Shiny and New" as they can.
I consider this pricing to be far better than the 6K for 2 that Galactic Starcruiser costs. Its a far more enjoyable experience and something more widely desired as DCL is well known for their original private island.
