I was down the post office today, addressing some parcels to be sent and some person stole my purse from my bag!! I had it down between my legs to on the floor so it was safe, and not jsut had it on the counter. I had my whole cash for the next two weeks in it ($700) to pay my rent and phone bill.....now i am really in strife....

With no money to live, and now having otget id again, went otget my licesne redone...needed 3 lots of id and cash t oget it done....like howcan I if i ahd ot all tkaen?????

I ahd only jsuttaken it out at a atm so i coudl pay the usual bills....the landlord wasn;t very happy..like it was all my fault??? I still can;t believe that it happened.....

I'm so sorry to hear that. I usually pull out a bunch of cash to pay bills, since it's quicker to do it in person than wait for a check to clear, plus I have a receipt in hand if there are any problems, and I always feel a bit paranoid for that hour or so while the money is in my wallet. I had a roommate that had the same thing happen to her a few years ago. At least in her case the scumbag dropped her purse in a mailbox so she got her drivers license and other stuff back.

That is very sad. I hope they catch the bum that took it. I hope you weren't followed from the atm. That could be how they knew you had cash.

I'm so sorry, Vicki!! Did you look around the area where it was stolen? Sometimes the thieves will take the money then dump the purse nearby, leaving cards and IDs behind. I hope you can find them! And if not, then that you can get new IDs without much hassle. *HUGS*

I am so sorry this happened to you. I had my purse stolen once and I was lucky, I didn't have much cash in it and all my IDs and credit cards were returned, never to be used. They only were hoping for cash and fortuntaly only got $2 of mine! I hadn't even had a chance to go replace all my IDs by the time it was returned. I hope that, somehow, all gets returned to you as well. Good luck replacing everything.

Rajah is right! Since the one thing the thief doesn't want is to be stopped with any ID linking them to you, they dump anything but cash as quickly as possible. It would be really worthwhile to check nearby trashcans, restrooms (especially these because it gives them privacy to go though the bag without being observed)...anyplace someone could dump something that size quickly. I had a girlfriend who took a pair of gloves and looked through the cans at the park near the train station where her purse was lifted. She not only found all her stuff but her cash (including some irreplacable family pictures and her house/car keys) but a number of good samaritans in the park volunteered to help her look! Made a very bad situation somewhat better.

Tell the police if you haven't done so. I'd check the trash cans, too. I hope you can at least get your ID back.

Sorry to hear this happened to you Vicki.
It is such an envasion....our lives are in our purses.

My DD (only 20 ) has had hers stolen twice!! Once from her locker at work and once form a dressing room at the mall.
It is so stressful. It takes time to get everything replaced too.
