We're heading back to the parks in Sept/Oct. and wanted to stay 3 nights at BWPPI again but the lowest I can find is 89.00. Is that the lowest available or has someone gotten better? Is there somewhere online I can keep an eye on rates?

Did you go to Best Western's website to price the available rooms? Also, what rate did you put in? as they have many, AAA, Best Rate, AARP, etc.

Don't know what your dates are, I just plugged in Sept. 24th for 3 nights with 2 adults/2 kids and got $79 for Best Rate and $80.10 for AAA, AARP, & Corporate..

Hope this helps.... :goodvibes

If you had to chose between BWPPI and the Carousel Inn & Suites... which would you pick?

I found rooms at the Carousel for $60 per night in October!
in the 80's for BWPPI...

Funny you ask that! I recently stayed at BWPPI and it was perfect. But I'd love to stay just as close and a little cheaper.

When I was doing my initial search I remembered that there were several good things said about Carousel.

Like you I tried finding reservations for both and noticed Carousel was definitely cheaper, I've just never stayed there!!

I posted another thread about the comparison of the two but not much response came back. Have you stayed at either?

Nope, I've only been to DL once and I can't remember which hotel I stayed in, but it wasn't right across from the entrance. It was a few blocks away.

It looks like the Carousel has been doing some updating to the rooms, so I guess I'm going to give it a shot. It's right next to McD's too so that's a plus. :teeth:

Also, it's a bit cheaper, and I have to be cheap on this trip because most of my extra $$ is tied up in purchasing a DVC contract. :goodvibes

Mom2Joce we've kinda been tailing each other here :flower: on this board trying to hunt down reviews of hotels that are close to DL. I think you are the one and another poster that made me decide the BWPPI would work for us. I have seen reviews for the Carousel also and again, just not sure. My biggest issue is that we are traveling as a family of 6 so most places I need to get two rooms and that adds up, so hence we were trying to get a place that we could all stay in one room, yet be within walking. I made my ressie at the BWPPI and hope we are pleased...(again, you and I have discussed this ;) )

I get scared when I read reviews on Trip Advisor of how some people really hate some of these places. As I said earlier on, my concern is cleanliness more than anything and value for the money. We are a tad spoiled, we were fortunate enough to have stayed at Paradise Pier once and DL Hotel once, but I just can't swing that this time around.

Anyway, please anyone, post on your stays and what you like/dislike. My trip is in mid October, so I still have a little time to make another 5 or so reservations someplace..... :teeth: ;)

Hehehehe!! I want you to know that my search for another hotel is NOT due to any dislikes there at BWPPI. I will more than likely stay there again but I can't find anything cheaper than 89.00 a night and it's just going to be me and my 4 year old so I was trying to get the 3 nights we'll be staying down a little bit. Also, since it's going to be just us I really want something in CLOSE proximity and BW is just that!! I feel very safe walking that route as there are always lots of people around :)

Again, price was my only thought for this trip but we'll see! I too was VERY concerned about BWPPI after reading through trip advisor and as I've stated before EVERYONE is going to have different experiences. Ours just happened to be a good one and the place was fine for us! Just thinking about the beds makes me want to go back. They are SO comfortable!!

I will be on this forum all year as I we'll be taking several trips over the 50th celebration and I'll let you know which way I go :)

Price is a concern for me for our planned trip in late mid/late October. I was able to book a 4 night stay at the Carousel Inn thru AAA for $60 per night. (this was for a deluxe room with 1 queen bed and 1 sofa with queen pullout). The standard 2 queen was also $60 per night thru AAA.

My understanding is that the Carousel is right across from the DL entrance (and next door to McDonalds and Mimi's. More pluses! I think they said the rooms have recently been renovated and the images online look pretty nice, but we don't plan on being in the rooms much anyway.

There are a few hotels that are RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET from the entrance HOWEVER, the crosswalk that you need to take is RIGHT at the BWPPI. Just wanted you to know :)

Carousel is a few doors down from the crosswalk but NOT far at all VERY CLOSE!!

Thanks for the info!

BWPPI sounds even more convenient, but for $20-30 extra per night savings... I'll settle with a few doors down. :teeth:

Yea, I don't blame you, I just wanted you to know how it was set up :)

Thanks guys, I'm enjoying the reviews :flower:

I would have opted too for maybe the Carousel to save the couple bucks, with it being 6 of us it is cheaper to get the mini suite at BWPPI and all bunk together. Much cheaper than getting say 2 rooms someplace else. And it seems all of us are looking for the closeness to walking to the park.

I'm excited for everyone's trip...we will have to keep each other posted.... :flower:
