I just saved about $500 :earsgirl:

Swan and Dolphin lowered their nurse/teacher/gov't employee rates for the time we will be there. I got our rates changed from $169.50 AAA rate to $99 nurse rate. Rates are good 8/21-10/2. You have to book by phone by 7/15.
Phone # is 1-800-524-4939.

I guess this is in response to Disney's free dining plan.

I'm going to WDW Oct 13-16. I've been holding out for general public discount codes. I really want to stay at the CR, but if disney doen't release any codes my back-up plan is to stay at the Swan.

I sure hope the Swan releases a $169/night rate good for my dates in October.

Oh my, why did I read this! I've got POP Century booked with 7 day MYW ticket, with pluses, no hopping, and the free dining for Sept 17-24. I have an AP, but my son and D-I-L do not. In order to get the free dining I booked POP at 77.00/night and bought us all 7 day MYW tickets. Now I read I can get the Swan or Dolpin for only $99.00/night. Would I be crazy to get a refund on my pkg (it's not 45 days out yet), then try to book the Swan using the nurse's rate, just buy my son and D-I-L their 7 day tickets, and use my DDE card to get discounts on meals, using my AP for park admissions. I hate to give up the free dining, but $99.00 at the Swan or Dolphin also sounds too good to pass up. Of course I know the Swan and Dolphin are charging a resort fee and also a fee to park., as well as a fee for the extra person in the room. Does anyone know how much those fees are? Considering how much my son and D-I-L (and myself for that matter), love to eat would you give up the free dining for it? HELP please!!

That is a fantastic rate! I wish I was able to take advantage of that! Congrats on your FIND!

When I called to inquire about this I was told I needed a code, although it was applicable for the govt/nurse rate and was $99 but I needed to tell her the code. She told me to search online for the code! LOL!

So, to Lorik, please please can you tell me if you used a code and what it was?

Thanks!

If you click on the Swan/Dolphin link at the top of this page a pop-up box comes up with the promotion and the code is at the near the bottom. Good luck.

Thanks so much for the heads up. We had two rooms booked for 169.50. I called my sister (who works for the state) and she was able to book us into a lakeview room for $134. This will save us quite a few bucks. My sister is so excited about going !

I think it's great that the S/D offer special rates but why not rotate from year to year. How about medical assistants and employees of non profit's?

Aubriee,

I have ressies for Dolphin. Fees are 11.5%tax, $10. resort fee and 7.00 per day self park or 14. valet park per day. (129.34 self pk. 137.15 valet pk.)

My daughter & I had to make the same choice. We decided to go with Dolphin and eat wherever we want, anytime we want!! :goodvibes

We have a ressie at Yacht Club w/free dining and 1 day pass ( we are not doing parks, we just want to rest, laugh, eat & drink!) that would cost us $884.32 ea. not including extras like wine w/dinner or Tea at GF!! We decided to pay $325. each for the "heavenly beds" and have plenty of cash left in our budget to do what we pleased for 6 days and 5 nights! :cheer2:

Your scenerio is different from ours so have fun figuring it out!!!!! :rotfl2: Either way, book the Dolphin if your interested because they will probably fill up soon. You can always cancel but at least you will have a few days to think about it. ;)

can anyone tell me the govt code G099
is that the letter o or a zero
i tried putting it in the web site as a promo code but it doesnt work
i guess i will have to call

thanks - AAA/ APH and AARP rates are all finally out for early October also - my rates went from $209 down to $169.50 :smooth:

I booked this Swan/Dolphin special on the DIS using the 'discounts' link at the top of most pages.

http://www.wdwinfo.com/discounts.html#blue-discounts

I think the deadline to book is July 15th. You can check availability and also find a link to an explanation of the qualifications for the specials.

Great deal since Southwest is offering a $39 one way from RDU to MCO! I have leftover park tickets so I'm giving myself this trip for my birthday in August. :teeth:

This deal just saved us about $600.

We had a 6 night stay booked at the Boardwalk Inn for the two of us with 7 day park hoppers and free dining for about $2440.

Now for hotel and tickets we'll pay $1128. We estimate it'll cost us each $100 for both of us to eat each day.

$2440 - $1830 = $610 saved!

I am a registered ultrasound tech, and registered rad. tech. Is the "nurses" rate good for me? I have the same level of education as a nurse, and get paid roughly the same, I am in allied health, so could I qualify for this rate? :earsgirl:

Scanmom we booked the S/D last year originally with the RN discount before we decided to do the Poly instead. Anyhow we were informed to make sure to bring a valid Nursing License at check in. All you can do is call and see.

Not to dog out your profession....but you can not compare u/s or rad to nursing it's like comparing apples to oranges.

I wonder why they give only certain professions discounts? Why do they get special treatment compared to others? Does Disney somehow 'value' them more?

Just curious.
