I feel so bad for the families who have had to cancel their trips due to the virus. there is noting worse then missing a Disney trip. My sister and her family are at Disney right now and had to cut there trip short by two days. that is a small consolation if you can keep your health. now for the reason for the post. we have a trip planned for July and as of now we are still planning on going. I just booked airfare on American out of Philadelphia for 7/11 thru 7/19 for four adults for 723.00 total. I have not seen fares this low in a while. as I am sure we are all worried about the virus, I am not going to stop living my life. if you are planning a trip you might want to check out airfares.

And you certainly shouldn’t stop living your life.
But right now, all of the medical advice is to practice social distancing in hopes of stopping the spread of this disease to others, particularly people who are in higher risk groups.
I live in PA & just today the governor has strongly urged all non essential businesses to voluntarily close, & if they do not comply, this will become mandatory.
The schools are shut down, heck even PennDot is shut down.
This isn’t about stopping people from living their lives, it’s about working together to save others,

I don't think any of the experts consider 'stopping' the spread an option. When they say ''slow" the spread of the virus, that is literally what they mean. The same number of patients will eventually be infected but not so many at the same time. We don't have the medical infrastructure to handle everyone getting it at the same time. They can better treat the sickest patients if they are spread out more.

Not only is SW discounted until the beginning of June, but at least for OMA-MCO (and I assume this is the case for other routes) the flights are "universally" discounted. EVERY flight is basically the same price ($108), which I have NEVER seen. We are still planning a late May/early June trip so took advantage of the chance to get some points back AND get much better flight times.

Only issue with this is it makes me assume SW "knows" even going into June things will very likely still be closed.

I booked 4 tickets BOS to MCO on Delta and back on SW for our august trip for around 40,000 points. The Delta flights were 5,000 points each, I haven't been able to book with such few points in a long time. I few months ago this same flights were more than double the points on Delta.
