Ok so my Rose Wand came in at $55 and I need two of them. My mom is like 'How can one rose & a ribbon bow on a stick be soooo expensive???"

I have 4 Flower Girls - I wanted to do 2 Baskets & 2 Wands.

So I need a lower cost Alternative to the rose wand- anyone have any ideas??

I really liked the ribbon wands but I thought they were only $30-35???

Petals for the Flower Baskets are only $12.50 and the Baskets on Ebay cost me about $30 I found. So it's actually cheaper for me to do all Baskets.

Any opinions or ideas???

Wow prices have gone way up! I had a 3-rose wand for my MOH back in 2005 and it was $35.

I've seen other brides on here do silk rose wands that look just as nice (if not nicer) than the ones Disney does. I don't know if you're crafty, but I'm sure someone here on the boards can give you direction for a silk wand. The wands are so pretty and fun, I hope you're able to do them!

Yes, This is what I'm talking about - I know it's been 4 years, but that's a big increase - I'd figure it out percentage wise, but I suck at Math. :rotfl: And it doesn't even state 3 rose wand!!!

I have no idea why it's so expensive

I can be crafty, problem is DF is saying that if you are gonna be crafty, then make sure you can do it under the price for Disney. By the time I buy the Materials, I'm afraid it will be the same price.

I got MOH the wand for 2 reasons: 1 she was young (not quite 18) at the time and it seemed to suit her; and 2 a regular bouquet was quoted to me at over $100. We had an Escape and no way was I spending over $100 for her to carry flowers for a 20 minute ceremony and some pictures! Rosie in Disney Floral suggested the wand and it was perfect.

I know you can do two silk wands from a craft store for a lot less than $55  I made two silk arrangements to have as a little extra decoration and I got all the supplies at Michael's for like $20. You can see one of them in this picture just next to the cake (ignore the vase - it was supposed to be a small cylinder vase but well, it's a long story!). They were big so I'm sure a smaller wand will be pretty inexpensive.

If you have a Michael's, check their cost of silk roses. Look at the prices of single stems and a "bunch" because one might be cheaper. Then all you need is pretty ribbon. Michael's is always having sales on ribbon (don't go to the bridal section, things are more expensive on that aisle). Also, there is usually a 40% off coupon in the Sunday paper and if you buy something at Michael's one week they'll usually give you a 50% off coupon for your next purchase. They also take competitor coupons. If you don't have a Michael's then check AC Moore or JoAnn Fabric or Hobby Lobby. Wrap the stems in the ribbon and loop it around the roses to make poofs (for lack of a better word!). You can then use spray glue on the wand and sprinkle glitter for pixie dust.
