Ok guys,

I had a couple of pairs of size 8 shorts that were low waisted and always had a big gap in the back of the pants. I bought these the first time I lost 37 pounds on WW's. They fit great the end of last summer when I lost my first few pounds after starting WW's again. They still had the gap but fit everywhere else. They were both the same brands.

Well yesterday I went to Old Navy (all the talk in the Old Navy Clothes thread made me go!) and I tried on some shorts. I brought in a pair of 4, 6 and 8's. I really thought I would need the 6 or 8's because they looked kind of tiny and they were low waisted. Usually the low waisted Jr sizes I need bigger. Well the 6's fell off me and the 4's fit great, BUT there was still the HUGE gap in the back of the pants. Is it me? Do you all have the same problem. Am I built funny? Or maybe I am just not wearing them right. I tried pulling them down in the front and it did help, but it doesn't feel right. I guess if you had no stretch marks and flat tanned skin it would look good, but it just doesn't cut it for me.

I guess I am not built to wear low waisted shorts! Then again, even my size 8 Lands End Jeans and my Levi's have a little gap in the back. Maybe I am just built funny!

I always have the gap in the back of ANYTHING I buy from Old Navy. I think their stuff is cut for people with no curves. (Or at least that's what *I* blame it on. LOL.)

I found that once I started wearing fitted waist pants/shorts instead of elastic waists I needed to wear a belt again.

I guess I'm built funny too ;) Almost every pair of pants/shorts I have have a gap in the back. If I try a smaller size there is still a gap in the back but they are tight through the but and legs. It is very frustrating sometimes because if I don't wear a belt I feel like the pants a re almost too loose but with the belt I don't like the "puckered" look the pants get. I seem to have this problem with almost every brand of pants/shorts.

I have a few pairs of PJ pants form Old Navy and they have a gap in the back. But I like that fact that I actually have hips now that can hold them up.

::yes:: I used to blame it on my hips, but I guess it's Old Navy's fault. ;)

I have the same problem with Old Navy. I think their pants and shorts are very wide in the waist. They are also lonf for me. I try on the size 10 capris and the seem like regular length pants on me. I have this problem with lots of the "trendy" style jeans and shorts. I guess if I tried to wear them with my butt crack almost showing they would fit OK but that isn't my style. I usually end up with the "mom" jeans as they were called the other day on Oprah. The have a smaller waist and fuller thighs and behind. My husband jokes that I can fit another person in the back of most of my shorts and jeans.

Well, I always blame the gap problem on the fact that my rear is bigger around than my waist, so pants that fit my caboose are loose on my waist. ;) However if it happens to Melanie even at size 4, I'm thinking it is just how Old Navy stuff is cut.

married2grumpy, I have the same problem with most of their capris. I was in there yesterday, though, and they seem to have a shorter cut of capris this year. I can't remember what they were called, but they did look like normal capris on me ... I no longer look like I'm expecting a flood. :)
