We will be travelling with someone who has low vision 20/200 or so Wouls a GAC help them in getting seating that will allow them to enjoy the show better and does anyone know how entrance wouls be taken care of? Just go in the regular line and then notify CM upon entrance? Thanks a bunch

Get the GAC and show it to the first CM you see at the show. They will let you know how to proceed. They may want to seat you before the other guests to make sure you are able to get a front seat.

Could someone explain this more. I am disabled due to being legally blind, no central vision. I've just accepted tha fact that there are a lot of things that I will not be able to see. I went to see the Hall of Presidents for the first time last year and since it was not crowded I got tro sit down front and it was so nice .

At the first park you go to go to Guest Services. Tell the CM there that you have severe vision problems and need a Guest Assistance Card (GAC) that will allow you to get seating which will allw you to see performances. They will ask how many are in your party and how long you will be staying, and give you a GAC with certain stamps on it. When you get to any show type of attraction show the GAC to the first cast member there and you will automatically be escorted (with the rest of your group) to a front location so you can see. Note that a GAC is good for the person who needs it and not more than five other members of the party.

If you go to the disABILITIES FAQs thread, there is a section about Guest Assistance Cards. We call them GACs for short.
GACs have messages on them that give the Cast Members some information about what sorts of assistance people with invisible disabilities need. One of the messages could include seating toward the front for someone with visual disabilities.
Some people have posted that they felt a GAC was helpful for them with vision problms, while others said they felt that just asking the CMs to direct them to the front (without using a GAC) worked well for them.

Thanks. I've always just accepted my "limitations".I've never been one to to expect to be treated differently. I need to change that attitude. I became legally blind in the 90's after working for 26 years at the same place.I could no longer drive either.I never realized how precious your vision was until it was gone. I will try this on our next trip. I'm sure I will "see" something I've never seen before. I look forward to getting up close and personal with the Lion King :teeth:
