Just wondering if anyone has ever put in a low salt request with your reservations or through special diets.. How did that work for you? I have high blood pressure and should try and avoid salt.. But, also I have a very low salt tolerance taste wise.. I have found that I cannot eat many foods served in restaurants due to the heavy salt factor. An example is the two times that I have tried Le Cellier- both times all the food was inedible to me- "sea water salty"

I asked this same question before and was told to check the disabilities board. You can do a search for low salt in the forum and find what you're looking for there. Hope this helps.

I have not put it on reservation before (although probably should have), but one trip I was on a very salt restricted diet for medical reason.

Had great experiences at both Flying Fish and California Grill. Chefs came out to discsuss my issues. They asked lots of really good questions about the level of salt and such.

They prepared off menu dishes, with low sodium, and assured me that they used separate pans to avoid contact with salt from other guests' food. At FF, we were at the low bar that looks into the show kitchen. The chefs/cooks showed us everything they were doing as they did it, demonstrating the low saltness of it. It was very cool.

I could have just been lucky, but I was very impressed with how pleasant and careful they were. It also wasn't hopping busy, that might have helped.

Le Cellier dishes are salty to people who aren't even on low salt diets and has gotten worse it seems over the last year.:rotfl: We eat there every trip and the food has alway been a little salty but both this past Oct and again in Dec it was literally inedible. I've always loved their risotto, but it tasted like pure salt both times. I couldn't eat it.
