what foods are relatively low salt at WDW? Someone said to avoid meats-if so, I’m OK with that. Do you agree? Any other suggestions?

Check out the fruit and nutella waffle at Sleepy Hallow in MK. Yummy!!!!!

My DM can only have 600 mg of salt a day and does great at Disney. We pretty much eat all meals at table service. The restaurants always have some type of meat that has not been marinated or salted. Pretty much any place that interests you they can accommodate. We can even eat at buffets and dinner shows. For a snack the Mickey Ice Cream Bars are very low sodium if you want a break from fruit.

Thanks, that's so encouraging to hear! Does he ask for the chef's help at TS restaurants? That fruit and nutella proves to me that low-salt can definitely be yummy.

Deli meats are very high in salt and should be avoided, but the restaurants are able to prepare some kind of meat for you without salting it. Always ask to speak to the chef. We always try to eat at off times when the restaurants are not that busy. It would be easier to get something special without too long of a wait when it is not peak time.

My DH also has food allergies his is dairy and black pepper so a chef comes for both of them. At a buffet one walks around with them and also usually makes stuff in the back. I can’t say enough about how wonderful the chefs we encountered on the various trips have been.

I have a shellfish allergy and I also need to keep sodium down. The CM are very attentive to both and will bring out the chef when needed. They have always been very accommodating and will give options that would have low salt or can be made w/o salt. I usually try to stick to proteins that are not marinated and most locations have subbed steamed veggies and plain roasted potatoes both made w/o any salt. Try to stay away from the sauces and soups - both are heavily salted. Enjoy!
