Maybe they are short because people are taking four towels for two people….One towel per person today because they are low on towels. Yesterday, my DD was able to get 4 towels for her and her sister but three separate trips today have been 1 per person. Ridiculous.

Is this at the pool? Or in the room? One towel per person today because they are low on towels. Yesterday, my DD was able to get 4 towels for her and her sister but three separate trips today have been 1 per person. Ridiculous.
Lots of people use two towels after a shower, they should be able to accommodate that easily.
I assumed the OP was taking about pool towels, based on the comments about “making three separate trips today” which you wouldn’t be doing for room towels, would you? Room towels wouldn’t you be calling mousekeeping instead of going somewhere? One towel per person seems fair for pool towels, but I agree two is better if it’s room towels.
Two towels per person is a pretty standard request. If it weren't, the attendant wouldn't ask you "how many?" They would just hand you one.Maybe they are short because people are taking four towels for two people….
I always thought they asked because you may be getting pool towels for other people in your party who got wrist bands the day before or who were already at a chair….Two towels per person is a pretty standard request. It never crossed my mind that someone would ask for two pool towels just for themselves…. and then come on to a message board to complain that Aulani doesn’t have enough pool towels and that they can only get one pool towel….
If this is for room towels… then I get it….
Yes, exactly. And I often go to the towel hut just for myself. Even when picking up for one person, I am always offered the choice of how many towels I need. I think the person complaining about this is just looking for things to complain about. I hope they feel better. One towel to lay down on the lounger, one towel to dry off with. This is simple stuff. We aren't talking about the Ramada here.

This. I don't think that I've ever used more than 1 towel at a time for any reason - home, pool, or hotel room.I always thought they asked because you may be getting pool towels for other people in your party who got wrist bands the day before or who were already at a chair….

Sure. You have the right to waste as much water and detergent on an isolated island as you want to because you paid a lot of money, I guess. If I want to use 5 towels, that's my business and the resort should be able to accommodate that. I'm not staying at the Red Roof Inn by the airport in Boise Idaho, for goodness sakes.

Okay, now you're just being facetious, right? Please read up on the water cycle.
Did you get 3 towels for 3 separate trips? Or did they refuse to give you more towels for your 2nd and 3rd trips because they remember your face?but three separate trips today have been 1 per person. Ridiculous.
