Low numbers for The CBR? WHY?

A few days ago, we asked you guys to choose a moderate resort and I found the results to be quite interesting. Here are the results:

Can anyone give me any insight into why CBR had such a low number?

It's waaay too big and spread out! CSR and POR have much more beautiful themeing and landscaping, and POFQ is small and compact ... easy to get around.

Just the people that responded to your poll. The great thing about WDW is that there is something for everyone. We have stayed at POR, CSR, and CBR. CBR is our favorite. You might want to read the CBR FAQ thread listed below for others that enjoy this resort.

I love CBR. It is my favorite moderate resort. I love the theming. Our room was great. The grounds are beautiful.

I agree with Safetymom. The polls we conduct on the Disboards are certainly not scientific. I have stayed at all 4 moderates and my least favorite is CSR. I didn't vote in your poll though. I would say that experience is the best indicator and you should just make sure to stay at all 4 moderates sometime. Then you'll know YOUR answer.

We were in the Jamaica section, and loved it! We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

I think the same could be said about CSR imo. It's just different for different people. CSR was wayyy too big and spread out for us personally. Hard to say for other people though.

Our plan is just that-to stay in all 4 moderates and then the deluxes.

We have stayed at both CSR and CBR and prefer CSR. It is newer, less spread out, has a bigger better themed pool, and MUCH better bus service. JMHO though. It's Disney World, so whatever you choose will be better than staying home!

I stayed at CBR in Dec., I didn't love it.
I would stay there again if I could get a different room. TO me it was just way to big. It was not easy to get anywhere around and I hated the bus service. I would much rather spend my time at Pop than there.
It was my second choice behind POP. I would like to visit more moderates before I form my official opinion onit because I have nothing to compare it to.

My family enjoyed the CBR very much. We have stayed there twice.

The walk can be a little far, but not like some have stated.

I have never found the bus service lacking. Maybe we were lucky, but there is a bus stop in front of every section.

I took a number of jogs/walks around the resort and besides Trinidad South, I did not think the walk to Port Royale was bad. Just my opinion.
I like the walk so that means I get some exercise and can snack more. I turn a negative into a positive. Burn more calories, anothe treat.

Have been to CBR twice two years in a row, I must say it is a beautiful resort and we loved it there. It is spread out but so are other resorts. We loved it for the relaxed feeling and the theme, the music and grounds. The buses ran very often with the same wait as probably other resorts, I can only say good things about CBR. The reason for not going there this year is simply because we were able to rent points for OKW from a friend, also we wanted to try another resort.

CBR is a great resort imo!!

We love CBR. We love the theming, the colors, the nicely sized rooms and bathrooms, the landscaping, etc.

I like the fact that it is spread out - I feel like there is room to breath and walk and move without being cramped. I spend all day being cramped in the parks, why should I want more of that at the resort?

We drive so I can't comment on the busses, but the location is nicely in the middle of everything, no more than a few minutes to drive to any park, etc.

We have no desire to stay at POFQ (we hates clowns and mardi gras type stuff), but might be willing to try POR or CSR. But for now, we love CBR too much to change. Maybe next trip we'll try a different one (if we can't afford the Poly, haha).

To be honest, I think it random chance. Each of the moderates has its fans and it mostly a function of who happens to be around when you post your poll. Post the same thing in a month and you'll get different results. If you hang on this forum, you'll see the "favorite moderate" crown change all the time.

One thing I have noticed is that CBR tends to engender the least amount of passion (maybe it's that laid-back feeling). The other moderates - especially CSR - get more rave reviews and more bad reviews.

Or maybe CBR fans know that whatever they post, someone else will ALWAYS post how large and spread out the resort is and their message about how beautiful and relaxing the resort is gets drowned out. I think CBR fans know that there are room locations at the other mods that would make that resort seem just as large and spread out as well.

From my perspective I don't really understand the comments about it being large and spread out and that being a negative.

We were in Aruba which had it's own quiet pool and was a short walk to the main building/main pool/etc.

So, the fact that the resort is large had no impact on me. I didn't have to walk the entire length of the resort every day so what does it matter?

Yes, there were several bus stops but the same thing happens at the other moderates and deluxes. Have people ever ridden the bus for the Epcot area resorts? That's not fun.

I did not vote, but would have picked POR.

We like all the mods, but found CBR to be too large, the food court needed an upgrade back then, and buses were the only form of transportation. when we stayed there in 1998 there was little selection at the food court, it needed a make-over, and there were not enough people working it.

We are going back this year, since we now know to ask for a building closer to The Center and the food court has been refirbished as of 2002.

My wife and I liked CSR for adults. Great theme, quite, nice walking, but the kids found it to be a hike for everything, except the pool, which they loved.

We will always be staying at the mods from now on. They just offer a little more (hot tub, more room space, free fridge, ect).

Next time we will probably go back to POR, unless we fall in love with CBR.

We are going to be staying at CBR next year. We are also doing the moderates tour. Back in January we stayed at POFQ and while we enjoyed it and probably wouldn't have any problem staying there again, I want to experience some of the other resorts too. How can you pick a favorite if you don't test them all?

Anyway, CBR was the other resort we considered last year mainly because hubby and I had gotten married in Jamaica and wanted to see how Disney does the Carribean. But we chose POFQ based on many different comments. We did find that we only used the boat to DTD once. We drove everywhere else. So while many find the boat a plus and the first-on, first-off of the bus a big plus, these things really didn't mean anything to us.
