Low Life Thieving Scum

A group of louts entered my shop yesterday dispersing themselves all around quickly picking things up and putting them in their pockets - I herded them out as fast as I could retrieving as many things as I could from but after they had gone I noticed that they have stolen my charity box in aid of a local child cancer victim. I can take the abuse they hurled at me no problem but to steal from a child with cancer makes them low life thieving scum and if I set eyes on them again I'm not going to be responsible for my actions. I called the police but quite honestly they don't want to know....they say I would have to prove who stole which item etc........

How can people live with themselves knowing what they have done?

Thanks for all your concern but I'm ok, fortunately I can handle myself quite well and this has never happened in my shop before. It was the discovery of the theft of the charity box that unsettled me most and I'm seething about it, I will make it up to the charity myself but that isn't the point, the fact that people can do this is awful, though the event itself compared to the troubles of the world is insignificant, the fact it happens on your own doorstep makes it worse.

DH used to have charity boxes in his shop and he had to chain them down, then one day this guy came in and started asking questions about something behind the counter - while DH was distracted his mate who was kneeling down next to the guy got out a pair of bolt cutters, cut the chain and they whipped the box These people just have no idea do they.

I just hope Alan's right that Karma will get them in the end. I guess what goes around comes around.
