We are staying at POFQ 10/21 - 10/24. I have a DD 3 and DD5, who will be celebrating their birthdays. We are buying the Florida Resident Four-Day pass, but I know my DD5 cannot handle all day at the parks (even with an afternoon break). She is high drama and maintenance when she is tired.

My most vivid memory of our last trip is her having a melt down as we left WDW (rainy, miserable day).

My plan is to go early and leave early afternoon. Any suggestions for the evenings? I was thinking early character dinners, boat rides, or carriage rides (nothing with long lines please). Certainly, not Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween.

Some suggestions:

* Go to Fort Wilderness and hang out. They have a small petting zoo, pony rides (I think), and a fun area to play around in.

* Mini Golf.

* Go to the Boardwalk and visit the shops, street games, shows & etc. Oh, they have trick or treating on the Boardwalk Halloween night, if you'll be there then.

* Downtown Disney.

* Go visit Animal Kingdom Lodge.

My dd4 sounds like yours!

We're doing the FW hayride & the campfire sing a long with CHip & Dale. Then they show an outdoor movie (but it is "The Rookie" on our day - not appealing to my 2 princesses). They also have the petting farm & pedal boats.

Resort hopping sounds fun - especially on the monorail. Riding the monorail in itself is fun. You can get off at the monorail resorts & look around, maybe hunt for hidden Mickey's (www.hiddenmickeys.org).

We're doing Chef Mickey's character dinner at the Contemporary which I have heard is very fun.

Hanging out at the pool is great. I have so many friends who spend a fortune to go to WDW & their kids only want to go to the pool or they say that was their favorite part!!!

We're even going to just hang out in the room & let the kids watch cartoons if they want! I think they need "down time" too! Especially if they don't nap!

We'll play it by ear. You never know, they may surprise us & never want to leave when we are at the parks!

Thanks - those are great ideas. How do I find out what movies they are showing at FW?

We rented a ponyoon boat last year. It was fun and relaxing. The kids loved it! We're going to do it again next year and we're taking a picnic lunch with us.

The one thing I'm always surprised at when I visit WDW (often!) is that parents get their kids up early & dash to the parks & then the kids suffer from the inevitable overload. I would recommend letting the kids get a slow start (they're on vacation, too!) & take things at their own pace. They might surprise you w/ how long they last.

You can find the FW movie schedule on the camping at FW thread in these forums. Unfortunatly they only announce it 1 month in advance. Also, the petting zoo, pony rides close at 5, but you can see the water parade and fireworks from the beach.....TAZ
