Low crowds but heat?? Is it worth it?

I'm seriously considering switching my October trip to Mid August because of my son's school starting to crack down a bit on absences. Plus it would be easier to get my vacation time to line up in August vs October. I'm concerned that it would be too hot to enjoy the parks and the days he's missing are right before a school holiday so there's only a loss of 2 school days. It's a tough choice for sure.

I think I am set on September and choosing the least crowded week which seems to be the 2nd or 3rd week depending on when Labor day is. Whichever week shows the most 1's that's when we will be going. Our kids will be in school for a month by then and as long as they are not behind going in I dont mind them missing. Well my son will only be in preschool so he would only miss a few days. I think we can handle the heat with the lowest crowds. Knowing we wont be standing in lines forever in the heat will be a plus. We are early morning people so we will def be there first thing when it opens and probably take a break in the afternoon or have a nice long lunch in the ac

Looks like you got a lot of great advice, my birthday is the last week of August and my daughter's is the first week of September, so last year we went in late August. The crowds were pretty low because most kids were already in school, and yes it was HOT. But like a lot of PP have said, we got up and out at rope drop, did FP+ in the late morning/early afternoon, took a break from lunch until 4ish, and then headed back out around then. We also did early dinner ADRs (around 5pm) so we would be in the parks already but be in the AC in the late afternoon. I thought it was well worth it.

Also, fwiw, during that trip we asked a lot of the CMs what they thought was the best time to visit, and they all said later in September because of the low crowds! I think we will try that someday.
