Hi All,

I'm starting WW again, for the tenth time this year! I'm determined to stick with it this time. I need ideas on low point, but also low cost foods. Items that are easily packed for lunch would also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for all you time!
Mary

Hi Mary!

My whole family,( me, DH, DS13, DS11, DS8 ) are all doing WW on-line. So far we've lost about 65lbs as a group, in two months!

Low point, low cost lunches.... I pack my boy's lunches every day, so I have a little experience with this :rotfl: I live overseas, so we don't have access to pre-packaged WW foods, so I make everything. Do you have a microwave available to you at work? Do you own a wide mouth thermos? Each of my boys has a wide mouthed thermos, so I send left-overs or soup nearly every day.

Today was thermos of whole wheat spaghetti with meat sauce, mandarine orange, pickles, baby carrots, pretzels.

Yesterday was, thermos of home made chicken noodle soup, Laughing cow lite cheese and crackers, celery sticks, pumkin seeds, grapes.

When I don't have anything for the thermos its a small wheat roll with turkey. Or I sometimes send a big salad with leftover grilled chicken.

We love the WW Minestrone soup recipe. I have a great chicken noodle soup recipe that isn't too high in pts. They love the Chicken and Broccoli with garlic sauce/rice in the thermos.

I really find that stocking up on fresh fruits and veggies isn't much more expensive than buying the pre-packaged stuff.

Another idea... on WW On-line look at the "Menu Plan" for the week. They usually have some good ideas!

Good luck and let me know if you want any soup recipes!

Aunt Millie's wheat lite bread is a good one for sammichs -- 1 pt for 2 slices
i make turkey, pickle and spicy mustard sammiches, or reduced fat Peanut butter with sugar free jam

the frozen smart ones are very good

I can't live without my "Flat Out" whole wheat wraps. They are good for sandwiches, pizzas, quesadillas, and are only 1 pt each. I get mine at Costco and they come in packages of 3, about 10 to each package.

I agree that soup is a great option for lunch- I leave cans in my filing cabinet and just pack my snacks and water for the day. For me, I leave dinners open for variety but for breakfast and lunch I stick with:

breakfast-Yogurt-4 pts
snack- carrots- 1pt
Healthy Choice Soup- 4pts
snack-apple- 1pt

I love the 2pt mini smart pop popcorn with a diet coke for a snack some time in the late afternoon or evening if I am going to have a light dinner
