Low 70's day/low 50's night--what to wear?

So I live locally, and if I was going this weekend, I’d plan on wearing very lightweight pants (like leggings or similar) to cut the chill in the morning and a t-shirt for when the sun comes out (because it can feel warm in the sun, even if it’s only 69 degrees out). I’d layer that with a sweatshirt or lightweight jacket that you can remove midday and that would take you through the evening.

Depending on how late you stay and whether the wind is blowing or not, the evening might not feel too cold and you could just wear your morning layers. But if you tend to get very cold or it’s going to be windy, you could bring a heavier pair of pants like jeans or sweatpants and a warmer jacket/sweatshirt for the evening. It will probably only be in the 60s in the evening in the parks unless it’s windy then all bets are off.

I'd probably do a sweatshirt, but if packing space is an issue you could just use your jacket. Sometimes the mornings can be surprisingly warm, but if it's cloudy you'll want sleeves. You could always leave your sweatshirt at home and buy one as a souvenir if you need one :) Have a wonderful time!

Thank you both so much for the very helpful information. Helpful to know about the lightweight pants and the not so cold evening weather in the parks. I'm flying Southwest so I am bringing two suitcases plus my carryon so I will have lots of room for layers.

Layers are always key :)

Following! Thank you for the clothing advice. We’re arriving Friday night and I was unsure what to pack- it’s been 10 years since we’ve been to DL and I’m used to packing for the humidity at WDW. This is great advice!

Even when it's warm, I always have a really thin zip up jacket in my purse (I do this at home as well). It's super lightweight, kind of like thin t-shirt or pajama material. I get cold very easily and I'm always freezing in A/C, so I use it on rides, in restaurants, etc. It's also a great morning layer at DL if it's cool but not cold. I'd also bring a regular sweatshiirt or jacket for evenings, which almost always feel cold to me--once the sun goes down, I'm cold at DLR!

One thing I've learned the hard way is to avoid jeans if you are going to get any water on you, whether from rain or rides. That's a miserable feeling; denim is not the best fabric to be wearing if you get wet. Otherwise, jeans are great.

Following this thread as well. Hope you have a great trip julesann! We will be there mid November. I've been many times in October/November and worn shorts. A few years ago it was 95 degrees when we went in November. Looking at the weather forecast we might need to pack jeans this time - keeping a weather eye out.

I was told that when in doubt about what to wear you can go on disney's website and use what your favorite character is currently shown wearing as a guide to copy. My favorite character is Donald Duck so if I bring up Disney.com that would be....... a hat.... a long sleeve shirt or jacket...... and.... uh.... hmm....

On second thought I'd ignore that advice and go with pants (not jeans), t-shirt, sweatshirt, and maybe a thin windbreaker that can squash down super compact. That's what I wore last week in the parks and I never needed the windbreaker, just the sweatshirt layer was enough for morning/evening.

We will be there mid-November also. First time back since 2016 I think it was. At this time of year I normally wear jeans, tee shirt and a hoodie and can take off the hoodie if needed.

Me reading this while looking out the window at the foot of snow on the ground in the middle of a snowfall warning on November 2nd... sigh...

I think a chunk of this answer revolves around what temps you are coming from. If you're in similar weather to a previous poster-- a foot of snow-- they may feel that 50° is sounding fairly today, and 70° is tropical at this point. However in Oregon we went through an extended summer, and 50° sounds pretty darn chilly! It's currently 44° and I'm in a winter-weight sweater, ha!

Personally I'd pack jeans with a sweatshirt for mornings and a coat-coat for evenings. Even if there's barely a temperature shift, once the sun goes down in Anaheim it always seems much cooler to me. Better to overpack than under pack when traveling on SW!

Absolutely! 70 is shorts weather for us!

HA! We are all different!!

Our tradition is Thanksgiving at DLR. We fly in from Ohio, so on average, it is much colder at home versus Orange County. However, 70 in Ohio is much different than 70 in Anaheim. One word, humidity.

Daytime: I typically am in leggings/jeans with layers of t-shirt, tunic sweater/flannel, and even a jacket on top sometimes.

Night: We know DLR evenings can be COLD. We break out our coats -- and for WOC Dessert Party the hat and gloves too. (except for DH, sub in a baseball hat, no gloves.)

You'd think it was the old Arizona girl in me ... my blood never never thickened after moving back to the midwest. ;) (yes, I know it is a myth, just go along, lol) Nope, dd has lived in this area her whole life and is the same. :rotfl:

I loved in Arizona as a teen for a terrible month-- I think it was 1995, and Phoenix hit a record high.... I flew back to Portland and asked for a sweatshirt as soon as I got off the plane. It was 90° 🤣

Now I'm always cold! Maybe a midlife thing for me? Who knows. But pass me my heavy coat when it hits the 50s!

Are you talking the 122 degrees on June 26, 1990?
I remember that well, my car overheated and I was a brand new 16 year old driver. :car:

See, that one month of AZ living and your blood never thickened back up. :rotfl2:

And yeah, midlife ... good times, isn't it? :rolleyes2 LOL. No joke, I can be cold in 80 degrees some days. 🤦‍♀️

Just looked it up-- thought it was the highest, but it wasn't.... 7/28/95 was 121°. Coming from Oregon, I had never experienced anything that high. Oy vey! It's been nearly 30 years ago and I still live in fear of anything higher than 110° 🤣

I was there in '95 too but not as eventful, no car issues. Just the typical fry and egg on the sidewalk summer heat. ;)

I will still take the dry heat over the miserable humid heat any day.

So I’m local, and yesterday it was 64 degrees at swim practice for my kids, and I was sitting outside freezing because it was so windy… it felt much colder. I would bring a warmer jacket just in case, unless you’re native to New England or the Midwest and used to really cold weather. I’ve been fooled too many times at Disneyland… I feel like it usually feels cooler than the temperature at night and in the early morning this time of year.

If it’s sunny, those mornings will warm up quickly in the sun. I’d layer a sweatshirt and a T-shirt, and you have the jacket covered!
