Just a bit of background. I had been wanting to try this service for a few years after reading about it and Marge's great service. Usually we have a rental car, but we were staying 2 weeks this time so I only reserved a car in the middle. I set up WeGoShop with Marge in about July to make sure I was scheduled in. She was totally professional and friendly. About a week before I left for our trip, she called to confirm my time and order. Well, lo and behold, we knew eachother during college! I hadn't thought about it because that was at University of Michigan and now she is in Orlando so nothing clicked, plus she got married. Anyhow, it was fun because Marge and her husband delievered our order and we were able to catch up. Marge knows my DH and his family well -- small world!!!

I can't say enough good about this service. It saved us so much time and money and Marge's services was fantastic. I would have said that whether I knew her or not! Don't hesitate to use her!

That's so cool that you guys knew each other and were able to catch up! We have used WeGoShop in the past and would do it again (probably will in January!) too, so I agree with your assessment of her service!;)

We were first time customers in August and will use her again-great service and everything was perfect.

I'm so glad you posted this ... I can also recommend Marge and her service. :thumbsup2 We used We Go Shop for the first time last month and I have to admit that my dh was skeptical at first. But for *days* after the delivery, he kept telling me what a great service it was, how glad he was that we tried it, and how he wants to order our groceries from now on rather than taking the time to go get them. :goodvibes

I totally agree. My vacation time is too valuable to navigate a new grocery store. Totally worth it!

The first and only time we traveled DVC so far, we ordered from the resort. Never again. Basically junk food.

Anyway -- I had heard of Garden Grocer, so I planned to order from them on our next trip. However, I've been reading a lot about WeGoShop and am intrigued.

For those of you who have used both, what is the difference that causes you to prefer one over the other?

I have not used GG, but the way I understand the difference is that Marge will go to any store or stores you want. We like Publix, so she shopped there. We got to take advantage of the sale prices and store brands. She would also go to Target or Wal-Mart, or any other store which I like.

If you need them to shop at two stores (say, Sam's for the large quanity stuff and Walmart for the little stuff), will they do that? Is it an additional charge?

When I compared them before our trip in August the biggest difference for me was that WeGo charges like an extra 13% or something to use a credit card to pay. They prefer cash I think. We knew we wouldn't be able to receive our order in person so I went with Garden Grocer so I could use a credit card & just prepay for the order. I would like to try WeGo sometime but I was put off by the amount of that percentage.:confused3 I DID talk to Marge on the phone first & she was very nice. It was just that fee that bothered me. I think GG is a bigger operation so the credit card thing was no biggie for them... The other difference is that GG marks things up and you shop & order online from a preset list and you know how much you're paying. With WeGo you type in everything specifically and they don't mark up the products and you get the bill after they shop. The GG del. fee was $12 & WeGo's is $17.

I don't know about GG but WeGo charges an additional $5 PER stop. I specifically inquired with Marge if I had them go to Albertson's on Orange Blossom Trail could they also go into the Albertson's Liquor Store which is RIGHT NEXT DOOR in the same shopping center and she said yes, for an additional $5!! I was like IT's NEXT DOOR - you don't even have to GO anywhere!! Still $5. At that point I decided to use an empty 20 oz plastic bottle and bring my own Captain Morgan in my checked luggage! Their fee would negate any savings I would have over buying it in the DVC store... So make sure your extra stop is worth it.
